This match for all the positives boils down to 2 points thrown away at home. Against Newcastle we should have performed and taken the points
Especially compared with the last two league wins where we didn't really impress but took 6 points and ground out victory with the old "even when they don't play well" refrain
I was gutted with the result yes but not with the manager or the team. United are always slow to reach form at the start of the season. there's still a long way to go but these two points might come back and haunt us all
As for calling out for LVGs head ....... Ridiculous

Who's doing that? I've seen a lot of mental patients trolling in the press but not heard that one.

Those are the fans. They are allowed to say what they want even though it's a little silly sometimes.

Points lead to performances. Today was our best performance yet had a less positive result, this is football. I beg to differ. Performances lead to points. We can agree to disagree here. It's something like the chicken and egg question. The thing that is worrying me and most United fans is the lack of cutting edge upfront. That's why most of us have been saying that signing a striker is of paramount importance at the moment. We might have created chances but we are not finishing them off. That's fair enough but we are three games in, plenty of strikers haven't scored yet does that mean they are all duds and can't finish? We are improving, we created more chances yesterday and the next step is to bang them in and be more clinical. The solution isn't always a new player, just look at last season. The front three/four has been looking sharper, the rotation of positions, the runs in behind they just need to build up a stronger chemistry and that comes from playing games. If you can't see the improvement get some red tinted glasses

Plenty of fans saying they've already lost faith in the manager after 3 games. Just head over to twitter.

There is a huge diffrence this year already. This game we would have lost in the last couple of years. Just look at the WBA game last season. We are much harder to hit on the break and we are dominating games ao much they can hardly break on us.

I am also surprised at all the negativity, even coming from past legends like Scholes, which baffles me.
Either they're stupid and don't understand all the progress that has been made, or they refuse to aknowledge it. I've been saying for a year: LVG is building more than instant success here. The manager who will come after him will have a solid structure, a team playing a modern football with a distinct philosophy (now that's what all those so-called pundits can't see), and an amazing core of players all about to hit their prime.
Anyway, I don't expect rivals, haters or the Keane's and Scholesy's to understand that. The truth is we have improved massively in one season. And all those haters are just currently hanging to the last bit of negativity they can find because we're struggling to score at the minute.
If Rooney's goal had been allowed, if Smalling had scored that header, if Valencia's volley hadn't hit Coloccini's back? What would they say?

Scholes has always been negative about this style of football I remember him being negative about barcelona during there first phase of success under pep

And that's the majority of the fans' opinions. I'm guessing it's the same on Talking reds and twitter and I feel like I've watched a completely different game. I thought it was our best game so far this season, we settled a little in the beginning of the second half, but otherwise we were crushing them - attacking, pressing them, opening up giant spaces. It's the finish we were lacking yesterday, but I believe it was just one of those days, call it unlucky or whatever. On another day we would have put 3 past them.

The world is full of morons. It was just one of those days. You could put any striker in ahead of rooney and i reckon it would have been the same result.

The problem with us United fans is we've been spoilt for success for too many years, winning trophies and in general playing great football. Now since the great man has gone (even though he didn't leave the squad in a fantastic position) we have to find our feet again. This takes time, something the majority of the fans don't want to accept. Last season although we did play some good football but on the whole it was pretty mundane which for me was understandable given we had a new manager and on paper an exciting squad with incorporations like that Argentinian twat and Falcao but on the pitch it was a diffent ball game. The manager and the squad have to accept joint responsibility for these performances but we achieved our goal of qualifying for the CL. This season we won the first 2 with more mundane performances but once again it's understandable with having to bed players in. Yesterday was a marked improvement and we did everything but score which is why I can't understand all the criticism thrown at us by everyone, even our own supporters. It's true that now is the time to kick on. Yesterday wouldn't serve as anything if we don't. If half way through the season we're half way down the table playing shit football then people can start to criticise but not after 3 PL games ffs.

Is a Fergie man and will be that way till the day he dies. He likes his football played one way or no way. I'm not sure he gets what's happening at the club and why, he might do, but he still doesn't like it. What he needs to remember is the Barcelona final when he / we got spanked. Needs to put 2+2 together. As do the rest of them.
