I agree with the consensus that we could play with a 2 man CM of Morgan and Herrera. Do we really need 2 holding players against one of the worst sides in the league? Not for me we don't. Mata plays his best football with Herrera in the side which makes us a lot more dangerous. It isn't rocket science. Yes if we don't concede we don't get beat but with the attacking talent we have at our disposal it really is a sin the way we've played the first couple of games. How many shots on target have we managed?

I don't agree with people saying Carrick and Schneiderlin are too similar in style, usually when they play together we've had Carrick staying back and Schneiderlin as an engine type of midfielder.
Glad that everyone's fit, it's refreshing to hear that.

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

Happy with that, maybe he will pick out a few passes a bit quicker and open up the pitch

fucking shit performance
we had nothing going forward despite them gifting us chances
we need that striker, rooney was useless up front, Chicharito is definitely not going to be in LVG's good books after that shocker
we should have won that given how much we dominated that, absolute joke that we haven't bought that main man up front

Shit performance? Nothing going forward? Did you watch the same game? I know you're normally full of hot air and not much else but fuck me at least try and think about what you're saying.

Definitely a better attacking display but still obviously missing that cutting edge. All round happy enough with the display and without making excuses but if Rooney's goal had of stood we probably would of romped it. Ref didn't help either. Just one of those days.

We where taking on to many touches or passing when they had a chance to shot but other than that ot was a good display. Newcastle came for the point and where lucky to get that. The back line was brilliant again.

Defence was superb again, the full backs are so full of energy and brilliant going forward. Smalling was solid and barely put a foot wrong again and Blind coped well with a tricky physical striker and kept bringing the ball out of defence.
The midfield absolutely bossed the game from the start, Schneiderlin put himself about as he does and Schweinsteiger was linking to the attack well in the first half. Also think Carrick was much improved when he came on compared to his first couple of displays.
Rooney was much more lively and unlucky to have a goal disallowed. Memphis was hit and miss, showed some great pace, strength and movement but was largely wasteful with the ball. Mata was classy, if he was at fault for anything it was his reluctance to just have a pop at goal and maybe overplaying a bit. Januzaj was a little ineffective in the 2nd half but I thought he was great in that opening spell, lovely turns, great turn of foot and was linking up well with the rest of the attack. I thought there was some brilliant link up play between the entire team throughout the match to be honest.
We just weren't clinical enough in the final 3rd whether it be with a cutting pass or the right finish and didn't get the rub of the green, every block fell to a Newcastle player. The ref had a shit game as well and gave us absolutely nothing.
But yeah, it was by far our most promising performance of the season and we'll win more games than we lose/draw playing like that.

I know you're normally full of hot air and not much else but fuck me at least try and think about what you're saying. ok we created chances, but absolutely shocking in the final 3rd, we did well defensively at least so there is that, and i don't have that many complaints about our midfield, i mean we could have been better but we were horrid in the last third, we should have scored multiple goals given the chances

I am glad because the way we defend as a team has been excellent so far, and Smalling is gradually becoming an important leader at the back, while forming an unexpected but promising partnership with Blind: both players look very complementary.
However, I am very disappointed by our lack of a proper striker. Rooney in that system is better at n°10, but I think this team will be toothless upfront until we bring in a powerful finisher. The link up play can be good (although we took our foot off the pedal at the 30th minute for whatever reason) and the team is starting to take shape nicely, but LVG has no choice but to bring in someone imo. Rooney's performance up top was again very poor, and he was instantly more at ease and dangerous when dropping at CAM.
The lads also looked a bit tired and no completely fresh. I hope LVG makes some rotation Vs Brugge.
Give me a powerful striker, able to attract defenders on him, win his headers and finish our crosses, keep the ball and get others into play and I believe this team will be fine. Otherwise, I think Fellaini will be of vital importance to the success of our season. We badly need someone "unplaybale" in the box. The rest is fine imo.

but we were horrid in the last third, we should have scored multiple goals given the chances I wouldn't go that far, but I actually agree that we should finish our chances a lot more. We have wasted many chances today with a poor final ball, or poor decision making. Hence why I said in my comments that we're a bit toothless at the minute. But that's is not worrying imo because the team is still gelling and we're bound to waste those chances as players needto understand each other, etc. But I would be sad if LVG doesn't bring in that striker we need. Because this team has so much potential, is so well balanced, with so much quality in depth, and there is just that little piece we're missing to kill our opponents off.
