Getting tired of repeating myself but I just don't get why we can't do what did for most of that 2nd half for pretty much an entire game.
Granted nobody can't keep it up for a full ninety minutes, there will be periods, but today again it was like someone just flicked a switch and we started going at them in a meaningful way and they sat deeper and deeper but we just couldn't score.
Do that for the first 45 of a game and if it doesn't work you know you've got another 45 to fix it.
Start games as we mean to go on.
We didn't give Swansea near enough problems to worry about in the first half today and paid a heavy price in the end.

Also, I hear reports saying we will "spend massively" again next summer.
I do believe we need strengthening, and that a couple of world class players would do us the world of good. But I am convinced we shouldn't go for overly expensive players only.
From my perspective, we need to add a few more "Rojo's" in key positions, and then add that one or two truly world class players to make a difference.
I have the feeling the team is on the right track, and that LVG's in's AND out's this summer will be of vital importance and define our success in the coming years. LVG is building a team, literally. We have so many young players who might be playing together for a long time.

I think we'll be fourth if we ride our luck pretty well, balancing it on both balls equally. It starts to worry me that our reins will break eventually somewhere along the way. Good reins are really hard to find these days.

Why does VG lately keep picking Jones over Smalling? I must admit, in the summer if Smalling had of left I wouldn't have shed too many tears but this season he's probably been our best defender. Jones for me is just a bull in a China shop. Don't rate him and don't think he should have a future at United especially in VGs way of playing, meaning the CBs bringing out the ball from the back.

haha either way we saw what they were like at the back when we did go at them. Flappianski looked like he was back to his usual self when any decent delivery came in.

Yeah, we've made him look like an Oliver Kahn in his best days at times. Aimless crosses of all kind etc. Even Young didn't have any decent one or I can't remember any. Sometimes there was a real mess in his box and no one could put the ball in the net. He was picking them like an apples. |

Yeah well there was a lot that were basically backpassed to him. But he got stranded in no mans land a few times which came from our constant pressure. If we sustained that for a bit longer I reckon they'd have wilted even if it was from a mistake. I'd take the goals any way at this point :lol:

Actually the Rojo header when he was unmarked near the crossbar when it was headed high and over. I immediately said Chiicharito v Stoke, it was pretty much the only way he could have directed onto goal

what was that. absolutely terrible showing from us, one of our worst games in some time for sure. big loss here and doesn't help our chances of retaining a top 4 spot

I'm not sure how much Van Gaal is to blame for yesterday - he pretty much picked the 11 any of us expected. He had no way of knowing that McNair and Shaw are going to underperform, and that immediately cost us 2 subs.
Not taking Van Persie off was probably his big mistake, although I can understand how he'd rather put in Mata instead of taking off Van Persie for Falcao
