Late Kick Off might be a good omen for us Team selection will probably not take too long - who is available plus we should't rush them back and risk a relapse - we need them over the Christamas period as well Go with the youngsters - dig in here and take the three points

I'm actually starting to worry about this game already. They'll be on a high from beating Chelsea and will be right up for doing the same to us in front of their home support. Our players need to shake off lastnight's disappointment and get back to business , but then the injury room is full as well.

Should be worried with an injury list like that, the inevitable Smalling injury really fucks us in the ass. We're in sorry shape atm.

If you live in Spain.
Just have wait and see what the damage is on the injury front. The run we have coming up though is kindish, could be worse.
Bournemouth are a good side but do like to play which could play right into our hands.

Who replaces Smalling then? Mcnair? I guess Carrick could also be an option, may need some experience to try and guide us through a difficult situation. But even that comes down to whether 1 of Morgan/Herrera are back which doesn't look likely. Even though Jackson did well I'd still rather Young play at left back at the moment. As I said, experience could be key. The team I'd be going with as it stands right now is: Dave Varela Mcnair Blind Young Carrick Mata/Fellaini Pereira Lingard Memphis Martial Really want to see Pereira start in the league as I think our attacking midfielders are all underperforming. Even though Mata got a nice assist last night I wasn't too impressed with the rest of his game and Fellaini just looked completely out of place. Pereira will add more speed, more energy and just all round youthful enthusiasm. It's worked on Lingard and I think the same would happen with him. If I had to choose between Mata and Fellaini for this game I'd probably just edge towards Fellaini but that is solely down to his defensive contribution, with what looks likely to be a depleted defence we may need him more than Mata.

Scary to think about the back four with injuries to Darmian and Mike. Could be Young - McNair - Blind - Borthwick-Jackson, if Jones doesnt recover in time.
Bournemouth is the kind of side that will suit our style. If we can keep possession and be solid at the back like we have been throughout this season, we can win this easily.

I'd be tempted to swap Carrick and Blind around for height and presence purposes.

I don't know Ed, Blind seems to be getting used to being CB and Carrick would have to start relatively from scratch compared to Blind's experience there this season.

wrong timing to face them. Confidence is sky high for them after their win against Chelsea and the late equalizer against Everton while we are on a low after being knocked out of the CL.
I don't think we can change too much due to our injuries but I think Carrick will come in and play alongside Basti in midfield. Depay and Lingard on the wings with Mata behind Martial. Young on the left , Varela right with Blind and McNair at CB.

well at least it ain't at home (yes, playing away might actually hope, because you know it wouldn't be pretty at old trafford right now)
you would think we should get back
we need to have some steel in midfield but i would drop basti for being shit. A punishment for a poor performance

Basti was shit in the previous game but our players bar Smalling and De Gea have been shit in some games throughout this season.

Basti's out, been banned for 3 games. Carrick is literally our only midfield option unless Schneiderlin or Herrera make a recovery.

Carrick and Fellaini it is.
Herrera is probably about a week or two off, not sure how serious Schneiderlin's is. If we get some defenders back then we can always push Blind up, certainly a chance for Pereira and maybe Goss though.
Anyone else standing out from the youth?

I would like to see a midfield three of Fellaini, Pereira and then Carrick sitting deeper, and move back to last year's end-of-the-season system
Pereira imo has the talent to become a very good player.
