It was an entertaining game, chances at both ends, more for us in the first half and it could have gone either way. Bournemouth were excellent and in the end wanted it that bit more.
With the injuries we had it was going to be difficult and Lingard going off was a blow but I can't fault the youngsters, they worked hard, ran their socks off and did the best they could. As Jamie said the experienced players are letting us down and have been all season, the game just drifted by Mata.
As for LVG, he didn't have any excuses but he needs to get some help for these youngsters.

What did people expect, no players = no result. Simples at this level.
Thought we might get a draw today but C'est la vie. Roll on January and get the cheque book out Ed.

Well whoever that might be, they'll have to hit the ground running and pretty hard at that

We have dropped so many silly points now. It's getting ridiculous. I know we're just 3 points behind City, but LVG has failed to capitalise every time we've had an opportunity. I am thankful for what he as done so far, but I am starting to wonder if he and his staff have the shoulders to take us further from now. He can say he is unlucky all he wants, you don't get so many injuries without a good reason: bad coaching? bad, inadequate training? exhausted players? or players with no mood whose body no longer responds the way it should? It may sound ridiculous, but it's not. There is clearly something wrong now. And I am getting sick of LVG's stubborness.
What's also worrying is that, while we may have set up a solid and reliable system (although not that effective and far from spectacular), we have lost every bit of character we use to have in those SAF's team. There is no leader, no personality, no inspiration. It's the same thing every week anyway. LVG is becoming successful in making me bored in front of the United games. I never thought it would happen.
I thought January could become a quick fix, but I am no longer sure. I think there is a deeper problem with LVG.

The squad may be at bare minimums but the least we should expect, especially from a VG squad is organisation. It was the same against Wolfsburg. Tried to play a more open game and left ourselves woefully open. It doesn't matter how young the team is. Organisation is the key to everything. We still had quality players out there but not one of them turned up. Even if we did have players like Herrera and Basti out there today I wouldn't of been surprised if it was the same result. The biggest injury worry for me is Smalling. I still don't believe that our defence is as good as stats show. The sooner he's back the better.

I think there is a deeper problem with LVG. Of course there is Matt. The man is as flexible as concrete post. He suffers from delusion of grandeur which means he will listen to advice from no one. He's a total dictator who rules with an iron fist and if any player crosses him slightly then quite simply they pay the price. If your his friend like Rooney or Basti then you get a life time pass and play whatever form or frame of mind you're in. We've all heard of his (supposedly ) boring training methods and how he complicates a simple game so much the players may as well need a PHD just to understand it. Is it any wonder we play like we're in a catonic state? Other than that the fella isn't too bad

Smalling is the pivot that the defensive solidity is hinged, if you take him out and don't replace with like calibre then you'll get what we got today. Rookie defensive mistakes cost us today.
You can't take the base of the spine out and expect anything else - we have no adequate cover for the situation we're in. Bring Summer forward to January.

I've pretty much lost my patience with LVG now. that was shite
LVG went in with such a weak side also, i like the idea of giving the youth a chance but don't play such an understrength side.
Yeah nah, LVG out now. No excuses for losing to bournemouth of all people, though really happy for them, i love how they go about things and have a bit of a soft spot for them, but yeah, no excuses.
bring in Ancelotti now or even Pep over (mid season i have no idea though, but bayern could win the bundesliga without a manager anyway given how much stronger their squad is than anyone else there)

He shouldn't have gone with such a weak side? Have you been living in a cave for the last week? You do realise we're missing our entire defence bar Blind.

Understand where you are coming from Spens but sacking LVG before Christmas is certainly out of the question. There's still so much to play for this season. The team we have at the moment is LVG's team. Time and effort has been spent on this side by LVG and only he knows what needs to be done to fix/rectify the problems we are facing at the moment. In a couple of weeks time , most of our injured players will be back.
However, if we have not shown any positive results playing this type of dire and turgid football come the end of the season,he has to go.

I wonder whats the matter with Young? He got completely ignored in the last 2 games.
In the first half we played well but the 2nd half was terrible. LVG should have subbed Lingard with Young IMO anyway not too unhappy with Pereira at that point of time.
I dont think the injuries are excuse for LVG, he is the one who made this squad paper thin. We only have 3 proper CBs in the squad and all 3 injured and you cant expect Jones to stay fit all season.

My feelings, exactly. LVG is the one who made our squad so thin KNOWING we had players prone to injuries in some areas, especially in defence as some of them are still very young (so prone to those minor injuries now and then) or new to the BPL. The only "unlucky part" I'll give him, are Valencia's and Shaw's long-term injuries. The BPL may not be the best league around right now, but it's still the most demanding from a physical point of view. LVG should have known that too. Arrogant, that's what he is.
