Not that weak? Who the fuck was he supposed to play? Do you want him to pluck defenders out of thin air?
Regardless of whether the squad is a little light or not, it'd be hard for any team to cope with that many injuries. Rojo, Shaw, Darmian, Valencia, Smalling all out with Jones just coming back from injury so not 100% fit. We were missing 6 first team defenders Yesterday.
Besides the defence the rest of the side was pretty strong, then we also had to cope with one of our most in form players, Lingard going off but even after bringing Pereira on the side was still strong enough to beat Bournemouth. Which is why I was still pissed that we couldn't manage to get a result.
Despite the makeshift defence we only conceded 2 goals (I know it could've been more) with one of them a bit of a fluke from a corner. That midfield and attack should be able to muster up more against what was also a clearly vulnerable Bournemouth defence.

We were outplayed by Bournemouth. End of story. they were the better side and the substitutions , i.e Pereirra coming on instead of Young when experience is needed, Fellaini being taken out when his height is more valuable compared to powell's everything had everyone scratching their heads.

Maybe we shouldn't forget that Bournemouth had 4 or 5 first choice starters out injured as well.

Bournemouth's injuries are dotted around the squad, they haven't had 1 area of their team completely decimated like our defence was. Makes it easier to manage.
I'm not making excuses for the defeat. That midfield and attack was more than good enough to beat Bournemouth. But criticism of the selection and of the defence is unwarranted considering that's literally all we had.
As for the size of the squad, we all knew going into the season we'd been left short. For that LVG must take the brunt of criticism.

Young should definitely be on the pitch yesterday after all our injuries. He's versatile and can't be as bad as some of the starters or subs who played yesterday. That's what you get when you cross LVG. his ego is just too big.

He's been shite all season, don't think he'd have made a difference tbh.

Young's omission has been peculiar but I don't see how he'd have helped us stop both those goals Yesterday. May have helped us at the other end of the pitch though. Fact is we shouldn't have needed Young Yesterday. They only scored 2 goals, you telling me that team we put out wasn't capable of scoring 3 goals against Bournemouth?
Mata, Fellaini, Carrick were all shit. Fellaini scored and made a nuisance of himself as usual but was giving away so many fucking fouls. Mata was non existent and Carrick was sloppy and slow. Then you've got Memphis who looked ok in the first half but did nothing of note in the 2nd and is performing well below his level at PSV. I feel sorry for Martial as he shouldn't be in this position week in week out but you have to judge the performance you see and he was poor Yesterday.
As for the substitutions. I have no real issue with any of them. I wanted Pereira on the pitch, I'd have switched Mata out wide for him though. Mcnair was injured and he must've felt Fellaini's impact was waning and he replaced him with someone of similar stature in terms of size with Powell.
I think the biggest fact we've seen the last 2 games is that this squad is nowhere near the complete package. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another culling in the summer.

He's been shite all season, don't think he'd have made a difference tbh. Roo's been shite the whole season as well. So if he's back and for whatever reason LVG decides to play Marcus Rashford ahead of him it's acceptable as well? C'mon.

It's hardly the same is it. Jackson is a natural left back, Young is a winger by trade. Rashford and Rooney are both forwards.

Young could also play LB. we have seen him play in that position a few times this season and last as well. Rashford comparison was for Roo .

I know the Rashford comparison was for Roo but my comment was based around the fact I thought you wanted Young to play at left back. I was saying it's not the same as Rashford and Roo because they're both natural forwards, so playing Rashford instead of a fit Rooney would be a stranger decision than playing a natural yet inexperienced full back in Jackson instead of going for the experience in Young.
As for whether he should have come on instead of Pereira, that is also debatable. In truth I think Pereira should play central, so I wasn't too happy to see him come on and play from the right as I felt he'd have little impact from there, which turned out to be right. But on the whole I was just glad to see him on the pitch as he deserves a chance, we've seen what's happened with Lingard when given the chance and I believe if Pereira got a few more chances we'd start to see similar quality displays but he has to play central.
None of this matters either way as Young wasn't fit enough to play anyway.

If he's not fit he shouldn't even be on the bench. We wouldn't want Young to further aggravate his injury.
