Berahino's not exactly prolific though is he, he'd be attainable in Jan but not convinced he's good enough saying that anyone's better than Rooney at the minute. no.9 for me depends how we see Martial, if he's gonna play wide then we can go all out in the summer for a top striker. Kane hasn't been a one season wonder and Lukaku has been impressive this season, if we're looking for a PL striker I think we can do better. not that prolific this season, last season he did score 16 goals in the premier league i think and basically yeah anyone would be better than rooney if only Vardy was around 24-25ish

Dave isn't that guy from Valencia the same as Pelle or Giroud, Paco Alcacer? I think maybe he would be a cheaper and a younger alternative to the PL options. It's all about who he wants to be fair, I think ideally he would like a no. 9 like Suarez or Lewandowski but a few weeks ago he was saying his strikers didn't need to touch the ball a lot to score like Mario Gomez so maybe he may want a poacher. Paco, he'd be relatively expensive i would imagine, not crazy money but 25 mill wouldn't be surprising either for him

With the way our team is approaching games, I think we need Alex Ferguson back. Win, lose or draw, his football was enjoyable. Now, watching Man U play is boring.

going to give this a shot:
In: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (40ish million) Hakan Cahanoglu (25 million) Ashley Cole (Free)
Passing, set piece master along with Depay, goals with Aubameyang and a left back that adds leadership in the back and gives us someone who can man the left side until shaw comes back, and could be a mentor to shaw (on the pitch, off the pitch hell no)
65 million is a fair bit to spend in january, though we probably do need to sort some things out

Didn't realise Cole was a free agent, may not be a bad shout to ease our problems at left back right now.

Even well past his best he's a better option than anyone else we've got fit at the minute.

His experience should see him through here for at least one more season till Shaw comes back, not forgetting his knowledge that he could give to Shaw and others could prove priceless. It's something that never occurred to me before, but like I said..Hmmm, this might just work ya know.

Shaw will be back in the new year but it means we won't have to rush him back (not like LVG would anyway) but yeah, experienced in a title race and one of, if not the best England left back ever. It doesn't make sense to go out and spend money on someone because when Shaw is fit there's no way he's not playing. I'd imagine Cole would jump at the chance.

Why wouldn't he? Beats scratching his left one ffs. Like I said, this never occurred to me ,but I've been weighing it up since and am getting more and more convinced that it's a good idea. Another experienced and successful brain in the dressing room can never be a bad idea.

Not a fan of Cole and frankly he's past it, I'd be very surprised if it happened.
I think the right side is a bigger problem, Shaw will be back before the end of the season anyway so shift Darmian across and get an attacking right back, preferably one that can cross the ball.

I think the right side is a bigger problem Yeah me too. Losing Valencia and Shaw on the long-term at the same time has made it difficult for us. Our current full-backs are good defenders, but they lack the attacking threat we need.

Mentioning it now because he was linked to a lot of clubs during the summer and Ed has just mentioned him in the matchday thread. Lacazette is a realistic target in January and could be everything we need in a striker. Lyon out of Europe completely as well and I'm sure I've read recently he's having a dispute with them over a new contract.

Been pretty poor in the league apparently and 6 goals in 15 isn't great. Though as you say he might not be happy and seems open to a move, not seen enough of him myself.
