Schneiderlin would just give us that bit of bite that we've lacked in previous games against Arsenal but Carrick/Basti would give us more control and dominate possession like against Liverpool though Arsenal have a lot more pace than they did. Schneiderlin for me.

Arsenal's midfield will dominate Carrick and Schweinsteiger in midfield? Alright then... The only recognised central midfielder they started in midweek was Coquelin.
If you're going for the ideal scenario, all 3 play as a 3 man midfield with Schweinsteiger the point of the 3 for me.

Ed's joke is very poignant. We're now debating who should start in midfield out of Carrick, Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin.... how times change. No doubt we have the best midfield options in the league now.

Schweinsteiger and Carrick rarely give the ball away and are incredibly composed We have looked slow in creating an attack and Schneiderlin has the pace, that's why I went for him, but I guess you have a point too.

If plan A doesn't work then we always have the other off the bench, mind you by then Arsenal's midfield may have already ran us ragged..

Anderson and Cleverley FTW! i still occasionally have nightmares about that midfield who ever thought that having these two play in midfield was an ok thing to do

I'm not saying I'll be pissed off if Carrick/Schweinsteiger don't start. Just that I can see the sense in that decision. No matter who starts in midfield today I'm going to be happy. The bigger concern for me is the full back positions.
I also originally said I wanted Memphis to be dropped but if we are on the back foot today and have to play on the counter, Memphis has more pace and power than Young to be an asset in that sense.

Could be the perfect game for Memphis, Arsenal are naive defensively, Bellerin will bomb forward no doubt and they won't double up on him.

That was Mathieson's prediction The others were going for either Jones or Young at right back and Darmian on the left

Still don't know where you get the impression that Schweinsteiger/Carrick will get mauled by Arsenal, of course they could have a bad game but on paper that midfield should be able to control a game against most sides.
Against Liverpool, we dominated the first half with those 2 and the beginning of the 2nd. We brought Schneiderlin on at around the 75 minutes mark and Liverpool got back into the game and had more of the ball.

Sanchez plays on the left doesn't he? So Darmian right and Young left.

Well not what we expected.
Weren't a team in that first half, some individuals really letting us down, team selection perhaps a little too confident. Second half, showed a bit more fight just wouldn't go dos us in front of goal and Cech was in good form.
Arsenal were brilliant, Wenger was under fire and rightly so but his players today came out and played for him which is admirable.
Lessons to be learned but no rash conclusions to be drawn from today. Will be interesting to hear Louis' take though.
