Right then, we now know what squad we have until at least January. Who starts against Liverpool then, providing some aren't ruled out with injuries? Does Martial go straight into the side? Do Wayne and Memphis deserve to keep their places in the side despite being disappointing in the league so far? Does Rojo come back into central defence after Blind looked a bit shakier than previous performances? And the big one does Dave go straight back into goal?
For me, De Gea has to go straight back into the side. Blind should keep his place at centre half as 1 off day doesn't mean he deserves to be dropped. I'd be very tempted to throw Martial straight in but I'd just stop myself from doing it and keep the same attack as vs Swansea. Schn/Schw in central midfield as well.
Actually if I'm being honest I'd keep the exact same personnel as the Swansea game bar the keeper but slightly tweak the setup. Back to a 4-3-3 with Schneiderlin holding, Herrera RCM and Schweinsteiger LCM. Memphis-Rooney-Mata in attack.

De Gea Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Shaw Schneiderlin - Carrick Mata - Herrera - Young Memphis - GK: De Gea, but if not anyone else but Romero (I'll have the same words all years by the way as I don't have any trust in Romero). - Rooney: out. It's time to leave him out for me, although I know it won't happen, but it should at this point, it's getting ridiculous. - Carrick: because he is used to this league and is in better shape than Schweini : let Schweinsteiger come in if we need to control the game for instance. - Keeping the Herrera/Mata combination, because we know it can work well, especially in those big games. - Young to come back into the side, because he deserves it, brings the hard work and defending skills, important in big games. Will inject some pace as well. - Memphis upfront: solid enough to make that spot his own. He could be a really tough surprise for Liverpool's defence. Rooney is simply too easy to handle thses days.

Kind of like the idea of throwing Martial in at the deep end, eager to impress and be on a high after being with the senior French squad for the first time as well as obviously making his debut at Old Trafford against our biggest rivals. Just think it might be a little bit too much of a baptism of fire.

I think Louis is crazy enough to do it, provided he impresses in training of course.

Be interesting to see if he features at all for France in the International break.

I'd go with what Jamie's offering, if De Gea is fit and in the right mindset get him straight in - we're likely to lose him on a free so we might as well get the most out of him. Sorry Romero. Wouldn't change the defence, apparently Rojo and Van Gaal had a little bust up too, so God knows, we might never see him again. Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Herrera - think that's the setup that has worked best, I wouldn't mind Carrick for Schweinsteiger too. No way Van Gaal drops Rooney or Mata, so I'm thinking maybe Martial can make a debut in the late minutes if fit, but we got to get him ready as soon as possible

Just checked to see if he is playing regularly, last game was against PSG. He seems match fit else Louis would have sent him to the reserves.

Yet, you'd expect them to be at their best facing United. Not that we unto be up for this game but we have problems of our own finishing and creating chances. We are better against teams who come at us and I'd expect Liverpool to do that. It'd be wise to stick to recently used line ups and hope Rooney has his shooting boots on.

De Gea Darmian -- Smalling -- Blind/Jones/Rojo* -- Shaw Schneiderlin Herrera --- Schweinsteiger Martial --- Rooney --- Memphis Bench: Romero, Rojo/Jones*, Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Valencia, Wilson That bench leaves Johnstone, Lingard, Pereira, Young and McNair as the only first teamers not in the matchday squad. I remember van Gaal saying something about wanting a small 'selection' but that feels hugely short to me. *Centre backs depend on who Liverpool play, if it's just Benteke up top then Blind but if Liverpool play any formation with two centre forwards then one of the others provided they're fit. We lost the game against Swansea because they switched to two up top and we couldn't deal with it. The Blind/Smalling partnership has been drilled and coached based on playing against one striker. Hoping to see a big reaction in this one, you can tell from reading all around the internet that the fans are getting restless, a loss in this one will really ramp up the pressure.

That's the formation for me. Like I said, I don't understand why he changed from that set up to playing 2 holding midfielders. I'd be inclined to keep Mata on the right to try and build on that relationship with Herrera from last season but it's hard to not go with the pace that attack would have.

Interesting as well is if you throw Wilson in the strikers role instead of Rooney, in terms of the future that looks incredibly exciting.

DDG in goal yes.................... just wondering if LVG will judge that he's now in the right frame of mind and if yes ..................... how will the Old Trafford faithful react to him
He'll have to knuckle down and perform to get himself selected for Spain and the Euro 2016 ---- but it will surely be a daunting walk out of that tunnel after all the palava since before the window even started ........he will be needing a big pair

Del Bosque reckons he needs to be playing and that is hardly surprising. With LvG, you don't walk into the side. Hope he gets some minutes with Spain and he is considered match fit.
