Yeah I'm not slagging the lad off or saying he's not good enough. Just that he that he found it tough Yesterday and lets be honest was pretty poor. Still no doubt in my mind he's gonna develop into an outstanding player for us.

The media were all over the club and manager with stories about players being unhappy to Martial's fee. This win brings a lot of relief for him and he further clarified the matter. Martial's goal doesn't prove anything but that will silence the moaners for now. De Gea signing the contract and starting his first game is great for the club. Looking at our rivals we've had a good start. We've looked comfortable controlling the game. The next aim will be getting better at creating and finishing chances while maintaing the same domination.

I think the general reaction to the first half on Saturday has been a bit harsh. It wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination but Liverpool were the major contributors to that. They'd come for a point and made it so that the game was always going to hinge on who got the first goal, I don't think I've ever seen a Liverpool side just come and put 10 men behind the ball before.
I think the second half would've gone exactly the same as the first if we hadn't got the goal so early, it was always like to take a set piece or something extraordinary.
The Martial goal is most likely going to be my moment of the season this year.

*Centre backs depend on who Liverpool play, if it's just Benteke up top then Blind but if Liverpool play any formation with two centre forwards then one of the others provided they're fit. We lost the game against Swansea because they switched to two up top and we couldn't deal with it. The Blind/Smalling partnership has been drilled and coached based on playing against one striker. Going back to this comment, I must admit I was nervous when I saw both Ings and Benteke playing. I assumed they were going to play Firmino at the tip of a diamond behind them. If Ings could've occupied Smalling and allow Benteke to isolate Blind they would've caused us far more issues. As it was, Firmino and Ings were out of position against full backs they were never getting any joy out of and Benteke was massively isolated. Rodgers done fucked up.
