A chance for Rooney to build on his CL performance, Swansea should come out and play so I'm expecting a good game as both teams like to keep possession. They've been pretty tight affairs in the past, we lost both last season 2-1 but with Schneiderlin now in the side we have more bite and someone who can win the ball back. We'll press high and force them into mistakes coming away with a win I'd go with this: Romero Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Shaw Schneiderlin - Carrick/Schweini Mata - Herrera - Depay Rooney

Can't argue with that team.

The only worry I'd have is Mata infront of Darmian against Montero, possibly Young or Januzaj would be better but I still see it being Mata.

Spot on Dave ........ ideal team selection
Glad we have the late slot on Sunday and hopefully the lads will have recovered from the match last night We've often stuttered in the league after European fixtures mid-week .... something new for LVG to manage with this group after the "light" fixture season last year.
Swansea will be up for this and it will be tight. Can't really see us thrashing them - but an away victory by a small margin would be fantastic.

It's the first time in years I've seen United fans so unanimous in what the team should be. More to the point for once I actually think that's the side van Gaal will go with as well.
Biggest test of the season so far, Darmian/Montero will be interesting to say the least.

That side is very close to what we were playing in that run last season as well. Schweinsteiger will play slightly further forward than holding mid with Herrera in the most advanced midfield position being able to link up with everyone. It's a no brainer but LVG will go with what he sees fit. Wouldn't surprise me to see Fellaini start in the nummber 10 position.

Agree with everything that has been said. Hopefully Herrera starts in that more advanced spot.
Will be a good game for sure. I am glad LVG mentions that we lost 6 points Vs them last season. It's like his pride was hurt and he won't accept to be hurt again ;-)

Agree 100% with Dave's lineup. Would love to see more of Herrera.
Hopefully Montero has an injury. read somewhere he's 50/50 for this match. Been one of the standouts for Swansea this season together with Bate Gomis, Jonjo Shelvey and Andre Ayew. His replacement, Wayne Routledge is no pushover either. In fact, Swansea have lots of pacey wingers. Dyer as well.

Be interesting this one
I'm hoping we start to see the bounce from Bruges, got draw all over it, but I'm also quietly confident now.

Last week United couldn't break Newcastle down. They fell over the line against Villa, fell over the line against Spurs. You can't keep on doing that.
Swansea keep the ball. I make them favourites and for some reason they are not, they're big outsiders for this football match with the bookies. I make this heads or tails, and I'll go with the heads of Swansea.
Rooney got back on the scoresheet against Club Brugge, but I'm not a fan of his in the centre-forward role. He needs to play No 10, and he needs to touch the ball 50 times in a game, not 25 times.
I want him facing the goal, picking players out and making chances. I'm his biggest fan, but not when he's up front.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-1
For some reason Swansea aren't favourite to beat United with the bookies he says. I thought someone who's notoriously blown oodles of cash at the bookies would have a bit more sense when it came to betting than that. Also he clearly couldn't give a shit how good we've been in defence so far, Swansea will defy all that and put 2 past us. Doesn't explain how they're going to do that or anything though, he just says they keep the ball.. Thick, fat cunt.
Again I could take the prediction if there was an ounce of reasoning in it, he's just fucking guessing and going against us as he does every time it's a potentially tricky game.

Then read his prediction for the Arsenal game.
Arsenal have got injury problems and Newcastle will have a right go at them. It's another must-win for the Gunners. I'm going for a 2-1 win to Arsenal but it will be a hard game without Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny.
Olivier Giroud did not get the service the other night and Liverpool played against his strengths. When Arsenal got the ball in the box it was down low, he's good with his head. I think they do need a forward before the window closes.
Newcastle will be alright, I like Steve McClaren and he'll bring some form of stability, but not overnight.
PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2
Basically says Arsenal are going to struggle in defence, they've not been great in attack and that Newcastle are going to play well.. 2-1 to Arsenal though.

I'd be advising against putting United in the acca's this weekend too.
Draw at best but I hope I'm wrong. These have already gone to the Bridge and gotten a good result which could and probably should have been better

oh shit........
swansea are playing very very well this season, more than a bit worried, obviously though we have the class though to pull out the win, one of the hardest fixtures for us probably outside the top 6. Think we win 1-0

Has anyone mentioned Herrera should have a big part to play? Just hope we don't have our normal subdued blues after a CL game. We've definitely got enough in our locker to beat them, it just depends on the team that turns up.

We'll be after revenge after they did the double over us last season. I think this is the first time we see the real United in the league this season and we'll win and perform well. You gotta be confident!
