Agree with Dave's line-up I think we will win this comfortably. The team which used to park the bus only caused problems to us and I don't see Swansea doing that, we cannot compare last season with this, as we are much stronger this time. 3-1 United win. We are much stronger in defence and holding midfield,we don't have a creative midfielder (basti was but is more holding now)or a number 9 good enough to break down the better teams during the season,Herrera might fill the creative role hopefully but without a 9 next to Rooney or worse if Rooney gets injured I am not so sure we are stronger. I realise my posts seem negative but realistically we are the biggest club in England and top three or four in the world and our squad really is not good enough.

We've broken down the better teams, it's the middle to bottom teams that we struggle with.

Today no excuses. We've got the team all of us wanted. Looking forward to this one.

I predicted 3-2. Scrap that I'm having £5 on 3-0, 22/1 will do for me.

Positives from the game:
We all know we need a goal keeper now.
We all know we need a striker now.
We all know we need a midfielder with pace that attacks.
Negatives:
We fucking knew that for over a year and we did not sign any of these!

No excuses, it simply wasn't good enough when it came down to it despite the dominance we showed at times in the game. The first 20 minutes of each half was very good from us but you have to do it for 90 minutes which is what the manager will say.
Romero is not good enough, we should keep de Gea and scout for a decent replacement in the summer.
Defence had an off day but I still don't have any worries about them on the whole.
Midfield controlled the game but were privy to the slow build up play that made our possession irrelevant. Also think Bastian is still getting upto speed with the English game as he was pretty ineffective, no doubt he'll get there though. The midfield is still as good as we could hope for, I just wish the manager would go back to the 3 in the middle.
Memphis was hugely disappointing. For such a strong guy he got bullied a lot, dived a lot and looked to have absolutely no direction or ideas on the ball. Like Bastian he's still getting used to league and I'm convinced he'll get there eventually but he's got some learning to do and I'm not convinced by him as a starter every week. Then again he's only going to get better with games so it's a tough one to call.
Rooney was terrible, 2 brilliant defence splitting passes that he wasted, was very slow to do anything with the ball both times. Same with his chance in the last 5 mins, allowed Williams to get back to him and missed a golden opportunity. A world class striker instead of Rooney and we score 3 goals today, no doubt about it. I'm also completely blaming him for the turnaround in the game, his loose pass when under no pressure whatsoever allowed them to break on the counter and score which also gave them extra confidence. At that time in the game we were in complete control. He's simply not up to the required standard to lead the line for us this season as our main striker. Scored a hat-trick against Brugge, yes but he was under no pressure on all 3, today he was up against a good defence and he struggled yet again.
Still think we're in a good place in terms of the whole side but there's some important decisions to be made by the manager, not only regarding whether to bring anyone in but in terms of whether this system is the right system to be playing.

Jamie has pretty much summed it all up. The brief spells showed that we have a side that can play well, but the cracks are still there. We don't move the ball up quick enough and a clinical striker is absolutely needed. We don't have time for Rooney to get in form - imagine if we gave every player that luxury.
As for DDG, even if Madrid coughs up - I'd rather we hold on and scout for a keeper. Romero is shaky - perhaps confidence will help him but there's a reason he wasn't first choice I'd imagine.

Twitter going into meltdown. Panic and crisis being mentioned a lot. Nowhere near that bad, just a few tweaks and we'll be golden.

Just listened to Van Gaal interview and am not sure he watched the same game,he seems to think we created a lot of chances and yet again talks about domination.. we had a lot of the ball but done nothing with it,thats not domination!
