Pretty much agree with everything Jaime has said. My own points are I'm sure De Gea won't be a United player come Tuesday and if he does go then it's very bad management leaving us with a very inexperienced keeper and another who doesn't look like he'll make the grade. Yes the players were lethargic today but VG needs to learn that having so much possession in the PL doesn't mean shit if we don't do anything with it. He's had a year to see this but nothing has changed in this respect even though we have much better players who are capable of playing at a faster pace. We have no cutting edge up front and if he keeps insisting on this system then not even signing a top forward will change much. Have to give a lot of credit to Shaw and Darmian yet again today. Smalling deserves a mentioned as well even though he was caught out of position more than once. Today the only good thing to come out of the game was all our frailties came to light. Something we all already knew but had yet to really experience it. Our goalkeeper isn't good enough, I'm still going for we need another CB and our obvious deficiencies up front. Going to be an interesting day tomorrow because if we don't sort out at least 2 of these positions then we will struggle to get top 4 even with the players we've already signed.

I don't think buying new players will change a thing, a clinical striker ok but not a great deal.
We lack pace ok but we had pace last season in Di Maria and one of the creative players in the world and it was the same, too slow and everything in front of the opposition. The first 20 minutes we dominated playing quick possession then we just drop and start playing lethargic, again second half started well got the goal and instead of going for kill we start to slow it down, we need to punish teams when we are on top.
We have creative players, we have runners from midfield, Schneiderlin did it today on various occasions but then hits the final third and sideways again. Rooney can make runs in behind again we've seen it, his best chances came from those runs but the rest of the time it's to feet and just pops it off, sideways again.
I think Memphis at least tried to make things happen today, some cute passes and movement, he was doubled up on and had very little space to work with. For me Schweinsteiger was the biggest disappointment, I expect Schneiderlin to go sideways but Basti should be hitting passes forward, he's a world class midfielder but maybe as you say Jamie he needs to get used to the league.
One sure thing is something's got to change going forward.

Awe I'm none the wiser as I currently watch this post match. He was clearly watching a different game to me I suspect he is on a different planet to you,on his planet if you have the ball for most of the game you win,it really would be nice to score more than the other team but its not vital.

He's done no different than Fergie did in his interviews after fuck up performances. No point doing anything else at this stage of the season. Just address it on the training pitch.

To sum up this game and where we're now:
- defence looks solid, despite conceding twice. We're a much stronger unit nd LVG has done a terrific job on that front. - we know how to control a game, and how to keep the ball , and LVG's improvement over last year are impressive in that regard as well. BUT: - we don't know how to score, and LVG's blind reliance on Rooney will cost us the season for sure. With a proper striker we would have killed the game earlier and we would have converted more chances. - Romero is a joke of a GK, but I already knew that and I am expecting more poor performances, going to cost us the season as well.
Only real criticism for today: the spirit wasn't there for every player. Having a bad game can happen, missing passes, tackles, making mistakes etc. can and will happen. But spending more time complaining and diving is something I will never tolerate. To Rooney and Depay: get your fucking head sorted.

I'd air on the side of caution with people claiming we can't play exciting attacking football and we can't move it forward quickly. etc.etc. We showed last season that we can and that we can do it against top opposition. Fact is a top in form striker today and we'd have taken all 3 points.
We're still only 4 games in, Chelsea have looked worse than we do and Arsenal/Liverpool have looked just as bad if not worse in Liverpool's case. One thing's for sure, City are head and shoulders above everyone at this early stage but even that can change with them having an off day. Before we start claiming how good/bad we're going to do lets at least get into the season. I'm still convinced we'll do well, LVG is stubborn but he's also incredibly driven and has a want to succeed so he'll change things if he thinks it's necessary for success.
Be very interested to see how we bounce back against Liverpool in 2 weeks time.

If DDG plays today I fancy we'd have won.
