And he promoted Wilson who looks more promising (which of course doesn't prove that he'll be better than Welbeck) and possess the same amount of pace, or even more, as Welbeck. Some people, including myself (Cleverley, Kagawa) have a tendency sometimes to overhype certain player just to be disappointed afterwords. Currently, it's happening with Januzaj. I certainly do hope he lives up to his potential and hype but he, as much as Falcao are partly a victims of the current system/performances/confidence/transition whatever. That's how i feel at the moment.

Hindsight is a bitch. Nothing we can do about the Welbeck situation though, but I think Wilson can take the role of a pacey, playing between the lines striker at least until the next season when we'll hopefully have Rooney in that role. In doing that we can pair Wilson with either RVP or Falcao, both of them good finishers. I'm not ready to give up on Falcao yet, as someone above said his play off the ball and runs have been great except for the last couple games, so I think it's a temporary drop in form. Pair him with someone else and he might shine, but him and RVP is just not working

It's not hindsight though, if the old forum wasn't lost forever I could show plenty of posts from me saying the same thing on the day he was sold. The way the season has panned out has just reinforced the opinion I already had.

The general consensus on the old site was disappointment but understanding from both sides on the decision.

So it's another round of heavy spending in the Summer then. CB + RB + CM + Striker. How are we for FFP if we get rid of Falcao, Mata, Fellaini, Rapha - Marc? Tried to do a little more digging and some guesstimated work into this on my dinner hour Based on selling nobody and adding 4 new players at a total of £150m and paying them all £120k a week I have us still having over £40m of wiggle room in the accounts for FFP. Long story short is FFP can't really stop us. The actual cash position and negotiating how and when players will be paid for may be a bit sticky though - there was £37m in the bank at the end of December and around £110m still owed out relating to players already here. The cash will come in to finance another mass spending but I'm not sure if we'd be able to pay massive figures in lump sums. Woody needs his A Game.
