Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal: "I didn't like this performance today. Of course, we have won and the result is fantastic. But after this match you cannot say that we are going up and I want to progress every match. Daley Blind has a headache and maybe tomorrow it is better. I don't think Blind will be out for next Monday's game. But for Phil Jones, I fear. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see tomorrow." A headache? Pass to him one Tylenol, Aspirine or some similar shit and he'll be fine, but I fear for Jonesh alsho. It could be that the cure for his disease hasn't found yet. Most probably picked up an Evansinitis, hard to live with.

lol at smalling getting a double
Falcao with another shit performance and now i'm convinced we just let him go back to monaco. let another club buy him and we can go sort ourselves out and buy a different striker or just go with rooney and rvp, cause the pair actually has shown to work

One has to ask what these 3 are doing in training?

I want Falcao here for 6 tins of peaches and a dog biscuit and no more. He could be a useful squad player but at a vastly reduced price - which won't happen, therefore, good riddance.
I want Rooney and Wilson up front, and RVP has a bit left in the tank yet, so that leaves space for a new striker.

To be fair, I am a great admirer of Falcao all his career in Europe, his stats speak for themselves. I am now starting to think that it's not the UTD style that doesn't suit him, but more the LVG slow-possession football that doesn't suit him. He was terrible tonight and the tactics are to blame, it's just not UTD football, cue the RVN days that were planned around a natural goal-scorer, which Falcao is. Our scrape-by our way back in to the CL seems to be priority with LVG and I do believe that once we re-affirm that status and his promises to the board are met, then and only then, we will will see a great fluid attack force here, all we can do is wait to see if this happens before we start to sharpen the knives yet. If we were to play like our natural all out attack game (eventually), I think we will see Falcao come in to his own.

Falcao will have to make a dramatic turnaround in the remaining games this season to make me want him here now. I don't mind RVP staying but not as a first choice regular, I'd like to see Wilson/Rooney as well but not sure whether Wilson is ready to be a first choice striker yet, then again the only way we'll see is giving him that chance seems RVP and Falcao aren't setting the house on fire. I'd like a front 2 of Rooney and 1 other next season, someone with pace and power and before people point out the fact we've let Welbeck leave who ticks both those boxes I also want this striker to be a clinical finisher (don't ask me who though).
Funny...a few months ago most people wouldn't have thought of a striker as an important area to strengthen in the summer, now for me it's more important than a central defender and just behind a world class box-to-box midfielder in terms of importance.

I don't think Falcao's wank performance tonight had anything to do with tactics, he was just awful, the ball just bounced off him every time it came to him, which has been happening all season when you think about it, he always seems very nervy in possession or when being given possession.

So overnight the arguably most prolific goal-scorer in European football has become "wank"? I too was extremely disappointed with his all-round performance tonight and most of the season thus far, but I can't help but blame our all round lethargic approach to attacking football for this. All of a sudden RVP is in effective this season? Rooney is in midfield? Januzaj's potential has dwindled? Wilson could do little when he came in tonight? Hernandez was sent out as well as Nani?.. Welbeck was sold? All our attacking talent is completely obsolete in this new regime? Why?.....For what gain?..Arguably he comes across as a guy who is prepared to say Fuck You All, because I know what I am doing here and don't judge me yet, a bit like the arrival of Mourinho,he seriously has a plan, like he was looking at the jod before-hand. And just a theory now mind.......... LVG has promised CL football on the back of the cheque-book and a draw away to West Ham is good enough in his strategy/"philosophy" to get us there. Once we are there and as long as we can ride out his first season to stabilise the ship after the SAF vacuum along with the Moyes debacle, I firmly believe that we will soon return to attacking , free-flowing football, but his mission at the moment is to get us to a point where we can return from and he is doing it. On top, I believe that he has a new strategy planned for next season once he gets us stabilised again and at least in the top 4 where we will return to what we know best which will be all out attack of which these players are capable of already, but he has them playing a very certain system, and if they were let loose on a stable foundation, they could potentially destroy anybody without any new signings. "Rooney, will you give me one season in CM and I promise...." (Hence the captaincy, give me one for the team?) Just a thought, let's wait and see? Surely even the arrogance of LVG, wouldn't dice with our future in such a way when he has a reputation to uphold? He has a plan and I for now still believe in him? I don't believe that anyone of his calibre would take this job and be so arrogant to leave his CV at the biggest club in the world with a black mark,I might be wrong, but I still believe that he knows what's best for our future regardless of the frustration that we we feel now.
