"LVG out" all over the place now ............. Schmeichel says he deserves more time well at least one ex player with some common sense being quoted for once.
When will the press turn towards Stamford Bridge and give us a break ?
We are not through in the CL but we are are not 14th in the league either

When they are knocked out tomorrow.
LVG won't go now but the slope is getting slippery, need to see vast improvement in the other competitions.

Yeah changing opinion on his position based on tonight is stupid. We got knocked out because the campaign was poor, not because we lost our toughest game of the group.
As I've been monotonously saying, he should be given the rest of the season as it stands. If our league form starts nose diving and we start finding ourselves 5/6/7 points off a top 4 spot and such then I'd be more inclined to say a change is needed. Fickle I know but that's the nature of the beast.
I don't think that'll happen though. I saw enough tonight in hugely difficult circumstances against a tough opponent to suggest there's hope yet for us this season. Have to see what comes out of these injuries though as we could virtually be looking at an u21 defence for the next few games.

Well he's definitely getting to the end of the season  Even Chelsea aren't going to part ways with Mourinho either by the looks of it despite how badly things are going. Nobody available worth talking about mid season anyway.
It's the league or nothing for me now after tonight. United and cups don't seem to be getting along in recent years, so league might be our best chance. Said it numerous times to date, it's a poor league this year and if him and this United can't win it the way teams around are playing this season he never will. The league is probably easier to win this year than any of the cup competitions we're left in.
If he can't win the league or even just a trophy of any kind I'm not sure what he can achieve within the final 12 months of his contract other than stabilizing the place after the post Fergie shock.

I agree, the league is all about consistency. Regardless of how you perceive the way we play, we are by far the most consistent and in a sense reliable performers of the top sides right now. Arsenal/City are very good for a couple of games then lose games they shouldn't be losing and often get hammered in the process. I still think only a slight improvement is needed in attack and we'll go very close to the league this season.
In terms of what I'd be happy with it's all still about making sure you get in the top 4 for me. If we have a good run at the title and finish a close 2nd/3rd I'll be satisfied that further progress has been made. I don't mean that in a sense that I'll be happy with the job LVG has done, just that I'll be satisfied with the position we're in moving forward. We really can't afford to drop out of the top 4 again. Not that I think we will, just that I think it still has to be the primary objective for us this season. Call it consolidation. Next season, no matter who's in charge I'm expecting a title.

Yeah I saw that before. Absolute bullshit. You should read some of John Hartson's comments, he was doing commentary for BBC tonight, he's a dick as well. I'll be avoiding all forms of sports media for the next couple of days, the amount of shit being said will just wind me up too much.

Oh I've read him as well...
LVG has signed a load of duds apparently and shouldn't be trusted with another cent

Surely we can't trust him to invest 100-200mil in our side anymore. This is the time I hope glazer will stop giving him anymore money to spend. He should sell first before spending. I don't think any manager had this luxury of spending this amount of money but making minimal progress and still surviving after the second year. If he doesn't win anything this season and we get 5th-6th in the league, we have to part ways with him. Definitely destroying the club.

Destroying the club? For real? Remember Moyes? Finished 7th? Ringing any bells? No?

Thank god we got rid of him. Furthermore moyes didn't get to spend as much as lvg. This team is definitely lvg's team. He got rid of players and brought in new ones. Results are a little better but performances wise have been dire. Like you said most of us sane people are not judging him based on yesterday results alone... it has been awful since last season bar the 8-9 games we had towards the end of the season.

Still, to say he's destroying the club is a little over the top considering what came before. If he's destroying our club, Mourinho has already destroyed Chelsea this season and Wenger destroys Arsenal every season. Also Sir Alex destroyed us in the 11/12 season when we were outplayed by nearly everyone in Europe including when we went into the Europa league.
The money/transfers thing isn't an issue either and is a false sum as a big chunk of it includes a player we all thought world class who we paid a fortune for and sold on after 1 year. Then you've got another big chunk of it going on rebuilding a midfield that has been in need of rebuilding for years. It's not like he's spent money for the sake of it and to be honest most of the transfers have been pretty decent. If anything his biggest issue was not spending more money in the summer on bringing in an experienced attacker.

Nothing is going to happen now, it'll be Summer if it does. And that all depends on what happens between now and the end of the season, although the Glazers have bought into VG 110% and would make him sign a new contract tomorrow if they could, I wouldn't be so sure about Woodward or the rest of them if they know Ancelloti and Pep are floating about.

will we be happy if he gets us 4th and we fail to win anything while playing drab football again this season?

He has to get us at least 4th ............... or win the Europa League ...........without which you have to think we won't attract anybody noteworthy for next season ......... players or managers.
The players have to step to the mark as well - it's not just a one man show
The season is far from over - the whole group has to pick itself up - get the players fit again and find the cutting edge they have lacked to kill off games
We are still in transition post Fergie and the re-building takes time, yes I still question why Wilson and Januzaj were sent out on on loan, I still question why our attack is so toothless but we can't change managers every 18 months and expect progress and stability.
Let them consolidate - the frustration we all feel is here and now - but the future looks really bright with a rejuvenated and talented squad
