He's done half the job is the way I look at it, just needs to add the missing half and job done. I think he's got in his locker to complete the job. I'd like to see him turn it round with the players we've got, rather than buy more in January ...but "whatevah"

Now he's blaming the Old Trafford faithful saying that the atmosphere at Old Trafford could be hindering his side's creativity, yeah OK Louis. The only ones not to be blamed so far are Louis himself and Fred the Red but I'm sure if we have another bad performance Fred will get a mention  |

It's not unreasonable what he says considering it's a new squad, majority never won anything before and never experienced a 'big club' first hand.

I don't think whether it's reasonable or unreasonable is in question here but it does seem like VG likes to deflect blame everywhere but his own door. Someone would have to be utterly blind or completely ignorant to not think it's our playing style that's the cause of the problem but still he persists.
Perhaps once we sign the players VG keeps on about everything will change and our attacking style will return to it's best but what I can't personally understand and I'm sure I'm not the only one is why 80% of our play goes down the wings when we don't have a decent inform winger. This is the reason our play is slow, monotonous and all too predictable but once again he persists. Adaption is the key to everything. If we don't (yet) have the players to play a certain style then we have to try something different. Not keep trying to fit square legs in round holes.
I think it was Einstein who said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. It doesn't surprise me that VG is as mad as a fecking hatter :lol:

Yes but he's acknowledged all this multiple times, but put an in form Rooney and Depay firing on all cylinders and you've got a side that can challenge for the title in decent style. Because you're either a 'narrow' team, a 'wide' team or a 'long ball' team. He's chosen to operate as a wide team who attacks from the outside in, apart from the fact we've got more players who are comfortable out wide than anywhere, it opens the field up and makes the opposition work harder over a longer period of time. Each system has it drawbacks and requires certain players to excel properly. He'll mix it up according to where he thinks the opposition will develop a weakness over a 90 minute period. But the overriding thing is the philosophy of possession; if you have the ball the opposition can't score and tire easier, thus creating gaps later on in games. |

He predicted us to win the league in the Moyes season and last season I think. Then spent all season slagging us off beyond belief because his prediction was predictably wide of the mark.
