As good as Wilson is and could be he's nowhere near Martial physically. Yeah to be frank I think that's very much what is keeping him off the playing squad now. Wilson is an excellent striker, but he needs to work on his power and strength to make more of an impact when he gets the chance. But he will get there, I have no doubt about it. |

On loan at Brighton for the rest of the season, hope he shows what he can do. Should tear the Championship up if he's got the potential we think he has, especially at one of the top clubs in the league at the moment.

Well, it makes little doubt someone is coming in January now.
But good luck to him, hope he gets stronger, more aggressive and more of a killer. He does have the talent to make it, but he has to move to the next level, especially physically.

That's good to hear, I like Hughton as he seems to give everyone a fair chance.
Wilson's had a fair few injuries/illnesses so hopefully he can stay fit for the remainder of the season and get a good run in the team.

I'll have the discussion with you Jamie  I still have high hopes for Wilson, he's a goalscorer, scored at all youth levels, first team, international, he's got a few at Brighton as well and if his teammates had better quality/decision making I'm sure he'd have some more. Quality finisher and a fox in the box. Rashford/Fletcher do have more of a physique of striker built for the prem that Wilson lacks somewhat, no doubt he's talented but his fitness, stamina, strength etc. could be his downfall to not making it here. I mean Rashford's pace, movement, energy are unreal really and probably what gives him the edge at the minute. He's been unlucky at Brighton, gets a run of games and then picks up an injury/illness, stop start but some minutes is better than none. Not always played upfront either, been deployed down the left or right which could be useful for us. I think if Brighton get promoted he should probably stay there or if we can give him some game time that may be the way. Like Lingard a late developer, all goes well in one or two years he'll be here playing his way into the team in a similar way. |
