drop blind, was hopeless today Please shut up, did you watch the fucking game? 1 mistake at the end didn't make his performance, as frustrating as it was. On this notion that LVG changed his tactics and sat back, people need to realise there are 2 teams in a football match. Did people really expect us to dominate the last 20 minutes of a game at Stamford Bridge in which Chelsea are losing? They were always going to push right til the end. I was irritated, as was Van Gaal, with the way we just kept lumping the ball forward every time we got it back, giving it straight back to Chelsea. Chelsea were pushing on and on, which left gaps wide open at the back and we didn't counter them once, besides when that fucking halfwit cocked everything up. I think this was down to the players though, not the manager, as I have stated he was just as pissed off. I've looked at their goal multiple times now and I've come to the conclusion that DDG could've done better as well. For me he needed to stay on his line until Costa evaded C-BJ, then come out and made himself big. It's what Schmeichel would've done. This isn't me criticising him as he made some superb saves, simply me personally analysing the goal. Costa may still have scored but he'd have given himself a better chance of saving it IMO. Anyway, the dust has settled and I'm still irritated but not pissed off. We were superb, could've and probably should've scored more before they got a foot hold at the end of the game which would've killed it off. Think we defended superbly for most of the game, we attacked brilliantly for most of the game and everyone played well for most of the game. I kind of look at this result in a similar way to what happened in the Champions League. If we miss out on the top 4, it won't be because of the 2 points we unluckily and undeservedly lost in a great performance away at Chelsea it will be because of some of the poor results we've had previous.

De Gea has been superb again. Even my Chelsea mates were applauding after the saves he made. Keeping him is a priority next season.

He made 3 very good saves but they were all saves you'd expect a top goalkeeper to make. The Fabregas and Ivanovic ones were pretty much at him, great reaction and reflexes but you'd have been disappointed if he didn't save them. His best stop was the Costa one further on in stoppage time.
The best save of the match was the Courtois one from Martial for me. It was that good an effort that it still nearly went in despite him getting a hand on it, so kudos to him for just tipping it around the post. Definitely the 2 best keepers in the league, how anyone thinks Hart is even in the same league as these 2 is beyond me.

Agree on what you said about Dave but I think he just reacted and didn't really notice CBJ, in the end he was in no mans land but again that's one mistake from him and tbh he redeemed himself with that final save. The goal was a collection of errors and lack of organisation, Mata should have done better closing Cesc down as well others weren't in their positions, it was a brilliant pass but too easy to get through us.
As for blaming LVG for changing the style after going 1-0 up, absolute nonsense.

I'm especially surprised by Darmian Yeah me too. I've never doubted he was a good defender, but I found him too cautious, too predictable and failing to add weight upfront. But he is starting to show more potential, especially from an attacking perspective. And I very much appreciate that. Same for BJ who is actually grwogin really, really well. It's funny how LVG says he hasn't given more freedom to his players, but all of a sudden every individual plays with more freedom, more composure, more trickery, more attacking intent. Not just upfront, but everywhere. Such an awful liar, Louis. Why not just admit that your stubborness has cost us the first half of the season? I however still disgaree with you Jie: LVG's changes came way too late as it allows Chelsea to come back in the game way too easily. You're all focusing on Blind's slip, or BJ keeping him onside, but that's not the real story. The truth is we let them come back in that game, because Fellaini tired, we had no engine any more in the centre, and it allows them more freedom and more time to pass the ball around and settle comfortably into our own half. Herrera and Schneiderlin should have come on earlier to press Chelsea properly and keep control. I can't blame the players, because they have all been playing well in my books, and showing everything I would expect as a fan. That being said, I am still full of praise for LVG's initial tactical set up. That Arsenal game aside, we have responded really well in those big games, and that is down to Louis, no doubt.

Anyway, the dust has settled and I'm still irritated but not pissed off yeah me neither. That's the kind of draw I have no problem with. The performance was good, everyone did their job, we're certainly on the right track. Hopefully we're not finding form too late. 6 points is not that big a gap, City still have to visit Anfield, the Bridge, face Spurs, face us, face Arsenal. Plenty of games where they will struggle if this year's stats are anything to go by. They've struggled against the better teams and they're not showing signs of improving. I am still confident we can take their spot in that top-4. But we must keep that "momentum".

Felt pretty deflated. I really did see that goal from Costa coming. I never feel comfortable with a one goal lead. That being said, there was improvement and I hope that we make those goals count. This has been a wild season.

One thing you can't fault Van Gaal for are the top 4 matches (if there is a top 4 anymore) - we've nailed them this season. It's irritating because this is the sort of shit that keeps me on Van Gaal's side despite the horrific matches throughout the whole December and even before that. Despite the lower win ratio than Moyes, despite the boring football I just can't shake it off because there are times that this team is playing some wonderful football.

is it me or I think that if CBJ was not there to try and redeem himself then Dave would've saved his initial shot, he looked like he didn't kick it as comfortable as he would've wanted. Anyways it was a good performance by the guys as everyone says and I thought when Schneiderlin was being subbed on it was going to be for mata and Fellaini to be a focal point but I guess as Matt said he was tired. We play like that in the coming games there is no way we can't get top four especially with the way this league has been crazy this season

Yeah there's that as well. Because Jackson was there it gave Costa a shield to easily take it round De Gea and pass it into an empty net. Plenty of players could've and probably should've done better but I'm not going to criticise them after they played so well for the majority of the game.....Shit happens.
