Papers are full of rumours about Mourinho again today. Starting to seem pretty inevitable he'll take over in the summer.

Apparently it's a done deal for 15.5 million a year

I am not an LVG fan, but this kind of news will be detrimental to his confidence, which will reflect on the players. It is inevitable that the club issue a statement, either confirming or denying these rumours.

This really pisses me off - we still have so much to do this season and how unsettling is this for the team - I bet Mata is having nightmares.
Whatever you may think of him it's also disrespectful to LVG and all the staff. Why can't people keep their gobs shut and be professional about these things. Every press conference gets more irritating because football is becoming the last thing on the agenda....... can't see it getting better any time soon,
I also disagree with City annoucing Guardiola so early - even if it's a done deal ......... maybe this impacted on their result against Leicester ... and now the whole team will play out a waiting game in the dressing room until the start of next season........... Pelligrini to leave a legacy and have City finish 5th ..... now that would make me laugh.
If Utd have signed him up as rumored - better get him in straight away rather than messing around with "yesterday's news" for the rest of the season. Media circus and blab mouth "friends" are there no gentlemen left in this game ?
The top clubs should be getting this "communcation" nightmare under control, what's happend to none-disclosure / confidentiality and, in more human terms, respect - the beautiful game deserves better

Agree with that Rach, there's no harm in speculating, but this time the media have outdone themselves. It's been going around my mind for a while - the impact that papers have over fans is ridiculous. It took only a couple weeks and they managed to turn the majority of fans against Van Gaal. Obviously the results were not good but the added pressure to make the next sensational story is just ruining all the football talk. And it must have impact on players too

It's a done deal, that or Ed is a total moron and to be fair he is far from that,Jose is coming and it's a done deal when you see today's news,it was a perfect chance for Ed to quash the story but he did not.
As for what happens next, who knows,Jose is not a United style of manager,he is a winner though and he is going to bring big names to the club,he only stays short times everywhere so I know we won't be the United we love but I think we will become winners again and at this point we need that,we really don't want to be Liverpool guys,it's a bitter pill but it's probably the cure short term.

I'm sorry to say that Mou is the only feasible solution. Be interesting though if we go on a fantastic run, playing great football and almost or actually winning the league (I know, I know) and have a great run in the Europa league. What would happen then if Mou is a certainty to take over? Would VG see out the final year of his contract?

why can't we have nice things like Simeone at least
i know Pep was chasing that Man City coin and we could hire him after they sack him but still, this is ridiculous

The task is not impossible. If we sack LVG and appoint Jose, we might still get the top 4 finish. What I do not understand is why he hasn't been sacked already!!

Because it's not mathematically impossible we can't get top 4. We are still in the FA cup. And we're about to go into the Europa cup, where there is a UCL place at stake.

You realise these are the reasons to get rid of him while their is still a chance to save the season,Is their one peron here who thinks we will make top 4,win the FA cup or Win in Europe with LVG at the helm?

He's on a contract and is a respected coach who got us top 4 last season, if they were going to get rid they'd have done it at Xmas. You've got no guarantees and magic bullets by bringing someone new in at this late stage, more chance you'll do more harm than good.
No doubt the moment arrives when we can't get top 4 you'll see his resignation announced and successor announced the day after.
