It's so frustrating to watch us completely in control of a game of football but look like scoring nothing. We're so predictable when we go forward, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass to the wing, cross it in, the defence clears. Repeat.
We're throwing in crosses left, right and centre and who do we have in the box? Rooney, Mata and Martial. There's no creativity or cutting edge. There's also not a whole lot of movement from the attackers either. Nobody making runs down the channels, nobody floating in front and behind the defence trying to find some space. It's static, slow, unimaginative and when we do work it well into a good position the final ball or finish is generally appalling.

And we're just 1 point off the fucking top!

And we're just 1 point off the fucking top! But we should be top! On full backs they are held back and Shaw is a big miss for us, Darmian as good as a full back he is, he can't cross for shit. With Valencia out I think we should be looking at a right back in Jan but Louis seems to want another Lefty.

I've also come to the decision that as classy a player I think Mata is, he's too slow and too weak. In this kind of system, it's imperative that you play with attackers that have pace. Mata is slow on the ball, he's slow to the ball and when hassled whilst on the ball he's often to weak to keep possession. For him to play and be effective in this side he has to be surrounded by pace so they can open the space up for him to get on the ball easier and work his magic. He had absolutely no effect on the game today and he played centrally.

Supposedly LVG's said he took Rooney off because he picked up a knock and that he would have maybe taken Martial off instead.

Same over-cautious and boring approach, with an appalling strikeforce. Some of our poor play is down to the players, but LVG has some serious issues when it comes to attacking what's in front of us. I am getting really tired of watching us now. LVG can sign whoever he wants in January, it's not going to change anything with that approach. We are just control-freaks with no end-product.
- Rooney is dead. Keep him if you want, but at least buy us some proper strikers. - Darmian is a good defenders, but he is second choice at best in my books because his attacking contribution is way too poor (and I am not even talking about his crossing), but with Valencia out for the long-term we're a bit screwed. We lack full-backs who can contribute in the final third, we badly miss Shaw and Valencia. - The rest I am sure could be a lot better, but for once I believe LVG's approach is wrong: he is more focused about not losing than about winning, and it shows now.

I'd bite the bullet, get rid of Rooney, keep Mata and put him where he belongs and buy a metric fuck-ton of pace. I'd start Summer buying in January to get the ball rolling and get Mane in and pay the price.

If we have ambition of doing absolutely anything this season it should be winning the league because we'll never have a better chance. Even though my confidence would suggest otherwise it's still a results business. If van Gaal thinks these performances will do that so be it, but I have my doubts.
This is the lowest points total the league leaders have had at the point in the season since 2010/11.
This is a piss poor league and people have to face up to reality of that.

I agree VG also needs to grow a dick and accept you need to attack and make your own luck in this league.

In fact, I think most attacking players are rubbish in that system. I am not even sure Messi or Ronaldo could do much on their own. Because that's what happens: there is too little movement and possibilities of combination. It's like we have reverted back to the situation under Moyes attacking wise. It's truly depressing.

Luckily for LVG he still has time on his side as we've been picking up results despite not playing great at the attacking end and for all our shortcomings are within touching distance of top spot.
He's paid good money to do his job and I have no doubt he'll know the attacking football isn't good enough and that he'll be working hard to try and rectify the problem. He's an arrogant bastard and I don't think he'd like the last thought of his last club to be he was a boring manager who played boring football and couldn't attack.
The title is there for the taking this year, we're by far the most solid and consistent of the top clubs. We don't blow hot and cold, we blow a constant lukewarm. If he can somehow get something to click up front in the 2nd half of the season, whether he starts to give players more freedom or he just fucking drops Rooney and goes with flat-out pace in attack I still feel we're not far off.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, speaking to BBC Sport: "I am disappointed. I have the feeling we could have won his match.
"We dominated 90 minutes but we gave the goal away, because we know already that Leicester is a counter team and also with our corner kicks they are very dangerous. We showed images of this also.
"We cannot give that goal away. Of course we are happy that we could score before half-time and in the second half we dominated more than in the first but we didn’t create too much.
"The chance of Memphis when he should have controlled better and Bastian with his head, we could have won. Ulloa had also a chance, but we have given that away because our organisation in that phase was not good. McNair was playing like a striker and that he cannot do."
"We didn’t give too many chances away and this against a team who scores the most, or one of the most, in the league.
"Wayne Rooney was limping and that is why I changed him. I already wanted to change one of the strikers because they were not always running in behind. There were some times when if we were quick we had space to do that but we didn't so that is why I wanted to bring Memphis in. Maybe I would have changed Martial."
On Jamie Vardy's goalscoring record: "Amazing and fantastic. The goal he scored is also amazing because it is not so easy. I can say our organisation is bad but he is provoking that also.
"It is a fantastic record to have, 11 matches in a row. Not many players will do that."
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, speaking to Sky Sports: "In the third or fourth phase we have to create more but it is difficult - you have seen where Leicester are on the pitch, double on the 60-metre area. A lot of bodies in front you makes it more difficult."

We are missing 3 players up top. Memphis finds some form. A winger with pace and end product and a proper striker that will force rooney out the team i.e. a muller or lewa

well a draw away at leicester is good i guess but we have so many problems up front, LVG Needs to show some balls and drop rooney, not sure if its just out of form or rooney is now just a shite player, because this is ridiculous, Rooney doesn't look like he belongs out there let alone him being the star of the show and captain
Darmian looks scared what the hell happened to him, that was not a good outing for him and it was really unlike his normal play, whats going on with him i do not know
If only Vardy was a bit younger, he would be a great #10 for us
congrats to Leicester though, love what they are doing as a club in all honesty, you can't help but admire it
