Moscow was cold, we were tired, blah blah... no excuses this time, because we need to get some points. Under the assumption that Rooney is not going to be dropped and no significant changes being made, I'm expecting something like this:

I actually think he drops Herrera tomorrow. He hasn't been great since the Everton game and was pretty poor in the away game against these guys. So I think we'll see Martial back up top with Rooney in behind and Young/Lingard on the flanks. Schmidfield to stay the same.

I'd like to see Martial upfront with Lingard and Young either side of Mata, Ander and Schneiderlin in midfield. The back four depends on the injuries.
But if he's not dropping Rooney, then agree with Jamie, Herrera sadly has to be sacrificed. As Jamie pointed in the other thread it's no coincidence that since Martial has moved we can't score, the fullbacks also need to do more to help the attackers.

Hererra is a strange fish how he drifts in and out of form

Yep, he really needed to cement that first team place down. Something which he's failed to do unfortunately. Obviously in an ideal world he'd still be in the side instead of Rooney but with Rooney unlikely to be dropped, Herrera's drop in form has made him an easier and more likely target to be dropped.

From the presser
"I think his best position is the striker's position but he needs to develop himself still," says the boss on Anthony Martial. "He is very young but I think it is better he develops in the striker's position." The manager adds Martial isn't convinced he can play wide on the right, although he feels he can, and "that is another story".
Looks as though Martial is back up front tomorrow then judging from the part in bold.

Martial back upfront is good, Jesse deserves to start as well he's been very bright. A little worried about Basti/Carrick energy wise but we shall see.

As long as Basti doesn't go pressing ridiculously high up the field like he did vs Arsenal we'll be fine. Hope Martial starts up front. The good thing about the attack is that it should be very fluid, all 4 guys can in theory occupy all 4 of the attacking positions.

Not that impressed. Young at RB??? Carrick with Basti??? Blind instead of Jones??? The only positive I can take is Lingard starting (but where?) And Martial (if it's true) upfront. Very fucking confusing.

Much better performance all round. Showed a lot of intent going forward, particularly at the start of the game but disappointed to not break them down earlier. Some of the play in the final 3rd still left something to be desired but can't fault the intent.
Lingard was the star man for me, beautifully weighted ball for Rooney's header. Always looking to move the play forward, taking men on all the time and showed a great footballing brain in how easily he found space and was very difficult to pick up. His touch was a little heavy at times but that will come the more he plays. Which I think he has to now, a couple of weeks ago he'd got himself into the squad and should get a few chances, now he deserves to be starting games. Delighted with how well he's done.
All in all it's a satisfying night, could and should have scored more goals but it's a win and puts us top of the group.
