DDG
Darmian - Smalling- Rojo/Jones - Blind
Herrera - Schneiderlin - Schweinsteiger
Mata - Martial- Memphis
I feel 4-3-3 could be the answer to our problems. We had the run of games where we played 4-3-3 last season.
Schweinsteiger will help out Blind defensively, Blind can do a job in going forward and that will make it easy for Memphis. Let Mata and Herrera combine in the right flank and Darmian can make his overlapping runs.
The Arsenal game is a good eye-opener for LVG and team. So I expect the team will be well prepared for this and we can expect a good response for the defeat against Arsenal.
2-0 United win

Schweinsteiger probably won't make it, so have to see who comes back fit enough to play first
Be a tight game as usual but I fancy us to nudge it - provided we're switched on and don't act like statues.

I'm waiting to see who is fit as well, but if they all are I'm thinking De Gea Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo Schneiderlin Herrera Schweinsteiger Mata Martial Memphis
But I've said that for some time now and it didn't happen so probably Schneiderlin - Carrick - Rooney

Hate to say it but hopefully Rooney is injured, Rojo CB, Blind LB and Young instead of Memphis. If Basti is fit him and Morgan, if not Morgan with Carrick with Herrera as AM.

Yeah I want Rooney out of the side with Memphis. Memphis only temporarily, Rooney because I think we'd be better without him at the minute.

I would still like to see Memphis given another game or two. I have faith in him and he will come good and 4-3-3 might help him.
Rooney should be dropped, he is so poor this season and he is pushing his captaincy privileges to the limit.

I have faith in him and think he will come good as well but he has the look to me of a guy who thinks he's already there. Just a couple of games on the bench to show he's got to earn his place will do the trick. Rooney just needs to be benched full stop.

I'm starting to see too many similarities in play with Nani from Memphis... Playing like a guy who thinks that he doesn't need to better himself now anymore and being a constant starter is not going to change his mind until he has to fight for his place. Hopefully he proves me wrong....

Wouldn't go as far as to say he reminds me of Nani just yet, it's still early but he needs to look at the impact he's had compared to Martial. He's as quick and strong as Martial and has as much ability from what I saw before he came here, so it has to be mental with him. He's a more emotive character than Martial who just looks dead inside, which makes him so fucking ruthless.

4-3-3 may just get the best out of Memphis as well i believe. With Wayne being dropped for another cm it might open up a bit more space for him between the full back and cb and midfield and defence

I'm going with Mani as well, we need a different formation for Memphis, but if Van Gaal is intent on using the current one, I'd put Memphis on as a sub. Put his starting position into question, that will surely make him tick

Rooney I can understand. He looks like he's suffering severe burnout which isn't all that surprising, Memphis does surprise me. He made all the right noises about working hard to become the best. Best at what I still don't know. If playing for one of this biggest clubs in the world isn't motivation enough then I don't know what is. Agree with all of the above. A spot on the bench should at least make him think the direction he wants to take.

Big money move gone to his head a little bit, then there's the BPL adjustment factor, nothing we haven't seen before. Can imagine VG being the same as Fergie when it comes to lifestyle and keeping young players grounded. Just keep dropping him in and out till he gets the rhythm of the league.

Yeah that's more where I'm coming from but he needs to be dropped out first before he can be dropped back in.

Can understand why he's being given an extended run out to see how he goes and get him bedded in as quickly as possible. When VG draws his line to pull him out and give him break is anybodies guess. I stopped second guessing VG almost immediately he got here.
