He's so good I had him in plural form because it's like having 2 players in 1

Van Gaal was very complimentary of him after the game so I expect he'll be getting more playing time, he should definitely start tomorrow.

He played well after coming on but I was surprised he took the man of the match (which was Carrick by a mile) because I think he can play a lot, lot better. Too many times he worked himself into space and then turned back despite having an option in front of him, a bit like he was unaware how much space he'd made for himself. I thought he passed the responsibility a bit too much. A good performance but he can definitely offer a lot more.

Yeah I was surprised by the MOTM, I'd have had a few players above him tbh, most notably Carrick and Rooney. It was a good performance from him against what was a poor Hull side though, I'd like to see him improve and put in a quality display in a match where we didn't have it all our own way, against Southampton next Monday for example.

Carrick was my MOTM, but I thought Ander played quite well. I thought he was looking forward when he created space... maybe not enough, but I didn't notice too many times where I thought he should have done better with his pass. It could have just been rust. He hasn't been in a PL match in a little while now. I suppose he'll be on from the start against Stoke.

Ander Herrera relishes no.10 role
Ander Herrera discussed his role in Manchester United's 3-0 victory over Hull City and thanked the supporters for voting him Man of the Match in an exclusive interview with ManUtd.com...
Congratulations on winning our Man of the Match award, despite only coming off the bench. It is quite an achievement...
I am very happy. I am grateful because I know the Manchester United fans have seen a lot of good players at Old Trafford and I am happy. I say ‘thank you’ to them all. I try to keep working and keep helping the team. I am happy with the game, of course.
You were in a more advanced role when you came on for Angel Di Maria. How did you find it?
Yes, I played like a no.10 and it is good because I can change positions. I can give the manager more options. I think this was the best game of this season for us but we have to keep working and keep winning games because we want to be in the top places in the league.
Why do you feel the performance was so impressive – is it a case of things clicking into place?
It was because we kept the ball. We didn’t lose too many balls. I think we have done what the manager wants because I heard we had 77 percent possession. This is a great stat. We are very happy and I think we played very good football because we kept the ball and had possession of it.
Stoke were only beaten by a late goal at Liverpool – does that show their resilience ahead of their visit here on Tuesday?
Yes, I have never seen Stoke losing one game like 4-0 or 5-0. They always fight in the games and, this season, they are playing much better and more on the ground. It is going to be a difficult game because Stoke have good players but we are at Old Trafford and we want to win all the games.

Anyone else concerned that Herrera just dives into tackles? Even when he is on a yellow card he dives into tackles and not staying on his feet. I'm always getting nervous when he is challenging for the ball

Training Talk: Ander HerreraWho has scored the best goal you've ever seen in training?I'd say Wayne [Rooney] or Juan [Mata] because they spend a lot of time practicing free-kicks – they score some fantastic goals. Talk us through the best goal you have ever scored in training...In pre-season against Ben Amos – you can ask him! [Laughs] Who's most competitive in training?Wazza. Wayne Rooney, always. How seriously do you take any matches or challenges? All the mini matches are important because the coaches are always looking at us before each game. We have a very competitive squad – we always want to win in matches or training. I think this is the right tactic because you play like you train. Which part of training do you enjoy the most?I enjoy the sessions the day before a game because we work on ball possession, shooting and set-plays – it's a good day. Which four players would you have in your five-a-side team?Anders [Lindegaard], because I want to score against David [De Gea]! I'd pick Rooney because he's always very competitive and I always want to be alongside him. Smalling – he's aggressive and we need a defender! And Juan Mata because we know each other very well. www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Features/2014/Dec/video-ander-herrera-training-talk.aspx?newsid=FAEF55ED-E6A5-4BFB-A5A9-ECAEADF22149
