Seriously miroslav. He got past Hutton countless times in the 1st half. probably his deliveries let him down a little but he was causing havoc to Villa's defense.

He played well Young, most commentators passed comment on it, thought he was unlucky to come off but ADM needs some minutes behind him with City and Chelsea coming up.

He was good I agree, but he lacks the final ball and on the flip side has had a couple of terrible crosses. He offers more defensively than di Maria but I think this is the game when we should hit them lot from the start and hard and try to take an early lead. Young to come on later to provide a bit more defensive stability. I think Fellaini, Blind and Carrick will be enough to stop them on that right flank and it's not that di Maria can't press and defend as well when given instructions and if van Gaal decides to play him that's exactly what he'll do. Villa was one game, City is a completely different beast than any of our last 3 matches, even on the poor form and I think we should play our best players in that match from the start. di Maria has improved his performances since the Arsenal game and should be unleashed right now. Perfect timing for him I'd say.

I have also thought, how Young would fare against Zabaleta and Navas (whoever plays right wing for them) and in comparison Zabaleta's pal from the NT?

Young's done well, I don't think he deserves to be dropped at the minute and in the big games we've had Di Maria's been pretty quiet if I remember rightly. I'd stay as is, we're in a good run with this set of players. Bring him on when we're 3-0 up

Di Maria has been really poor defensively. He doesn't track back and offensively hasn't been that great either. His assists recently were mainly down to superb finishing. The Mata's one was slightly behind while Roo's one was an over hit. Assists nonetheless. Just saying he could be our weak link if he starts. Most of City's attack will be coming from his side I reckon if he plays. Zabaleta will have a field day.

I don't think he deserves to be dropped at the minute Me neither, it's just from a tactical point of view. in the big games we've had Di Maria's been pretty quiet if I remember rightly. He's played only in 4, Chelsea draw, loss to City, and 2 wins vs Arsenal and Liverpool where he had an assists in both games.

Young is a no-brainer for me. Because he understands LVG's system much better: better positioning, not wasting or losing the ball cheaply, balancing the side properly, offering good defensive cover and pace down that flank. Young has been doing exactly what he has been told to, same as Mata, and we have found our balance. Di Maria hasn't done anything to deserve that starting spot against City. In my books it will only disrupt our newly-found balance and create unnecessary tensions (Young would have every right to be pissed).
If Di Maria wants to come back into the side, he will need to impress in the minutes he is given at the end, be sharp and decisive, or wait for Young ot pick up an injury. His price tag won't help him with LVG, and that's exactly how it should be.

I see the Moyes syndrome still holding up people, being shit scared of others, to set up their teams defensively against mentally torn apart side that is in regression last month or so, at home. We should hit them now while they are there for taking, it's been a while since we could say that we have a confidence of doing it!

not wasting or losing the ball cheaply Although he can't hit a precise cross for shit and also misplaces some of the passes as well...

He didn't tear him a new one at the Etihad Nor is Young. He was still a new boy at the hood at the time, played in an experiment of a system when we didn't have any sort of balance and were shaky all over the pitch, playing a dull stuff week in week out. Now it's a completely different situation.

I don't think starting Young means us being more negative. It's just that he's having better form at the moment.

You've said yourself that Young doesn't deserved to be dropped, Di Maria's been blow par all season so I don't know why you think it's going to be any different now.
Alright the system has changed and we are now more balanced, would you bring in Falcao for Rooney? I don't think so. Young's been an integral part of our recent performances and has offered more offensively and defensively, very crucial to creating chances and making our goals.
