As you were besides Smalling then. Expecting us to dominate but they'll defend stoutly. 2-0, 1 goal in each half.

Happy with that, and pretty much as expected.
Will imagine ADM and Falcao getting on early second half if all goes well.

Another very good performance if you forget Villa's goal where the defence and Dave just fell asleep. All 3 goals were great but the difficulty of the strike from Rooney was higher than Herrera's very good double, great strike from Wayne. The 2 Herrera goals were brilliantly well made team goals, particularly the first.
Deserved MOTM for Herrera today, thought he was great all over the pitch. Don't have a bad word to say about anyone to be honest. Funnily enough the player that was frustrating me the most was Rooney but how can you be mad at him after that strike and then the part he played in the 3rd goal.
The corner has truly been turned for this side now. Dominating possession (around 75% today) and creating a hell of a lot of chances, whilst remaining predominantly solid at the back.
Bring on City!!! Really don't see anything but a United victory in this game.

77% possession of the ball, 19 shots - 7 on target (shame that Rojo's thunderbolt didn't went in). Villa set them up to play on the counter, some very dangerous of those but we dealt very well with them. Their goal came from a horrible corner and lack of concentration on our side but we deserved that victory. Should have had a peno on Rooney as well but the revenge came from that beautiful half volley (I thought they are banned ). Anyway, Scouse gits lost heavily today and our road to the UCL successfully continues!

started off a bit slow, but good win regardless, should have been more, the obvious penalty at the start and some other dubious calls against us didn't help, but we still won comfortably despite this.
at least we are into third (albeit temporarily unless palace pulls it out, i mean burnley did it, so i can't see why not), also just a point behind arsenal for 2nd, lets face it, unless chelsea implode we aren't catching them, but 2nd place would be an excellent finish considering how crap we were last season

What impresses me is how easy those games are starting to look. We keep the ball so well, we build up the play so calmly and accurately, we're turning into a hell of a lethal machine.
LVG's philosophy/tactical approach seems well in place now and it's paying off. What an improvement this has been since last year! I truly hope we can reach the top 4 and the CL, because I want to see how far we can go into a continental competition under LVG. I think we could do extremely well!
We still have a tough run in ahead of us though and shouldn't become complacent. The top-4 finish hasn't been secured yet.

Finishing 2nd is in our own hands and right now there's no side playing better than us in the league (even though the media would have you believe Arsenal have been a level above). If we're going to slip up it's going to be against sides we take too lightly but I don't think LVG will let that happen, he's used to the league now, knows every side in the league is capable of beating every other side and won't allow the players to let their guard down.
I think we can do some serious damage in Europe next season, especially with further additions to the squad. There's no side with half a brain that will want to draw us, especially with the proven experience in Europe of our manager.
Exciting times ahead!

Agree with Matt, our performances are getting more solid with each game and you don't even question whether we'd win against sides like Villa. The midfield parnerships seem to be developing really nicely, so comfortable that you could see Rojo spending some time in midfield as well, pressing them even more. I was really impressed with Young yesterday as well, probably one of his best performances this season
