Back to the game, same team for me providing there's no injuries.
Villa will probably go with Agbo and Benteke so a different challenge for Smalling and Jones.
Still at home and given our form expect a win, goals galore please.

He's 23, he IS still an excitable puppy! You don't learn the CB trade till late, later than any other position, there are a few exceptional exceptions but they're not the rule.
Jones has showed enough of the combative / blocking "defensive" aspect required at the top level, and he enjoys a scrap (which is a good thing in the BPL). Now he's got to learn the other half of it, like using your brain, learning the art of brain and brawn. That comes with age and 23 is fuck all but now is the time to start changing his game and educating him - Smalling, you can see, is putting it together slowly and he's 25/6. An extra year / 18 months maturity in the head makes a big difference at that age.
The club also needs to keep as many British players who are good enough and know the culture of the club as long as humanly possible, or you'll end up with a club where you have to explain who Liverpool are to United to every player. It's in our own interest to get our own players through in the long term.

Basically teaching him to think ahead of anything else. but he simply hasn't got the football brain This is where lies my dilemma about him, does he have the mental capacity for this. I certainly do hope so but the signs are not positive. This is basically the same feelings I had for Daniel Welbeck the Arsenal player. He had it all until the last moment when you disappointingly realize that he actually didn't have it. Anderson was a tier below the former pair, with namely: "I don't give a shit" attitude.

But somehow they don't come too often these days. I think the coaching methods in England needs revamping as well, otherwise the youngsters will not be showing significant progress in "think before you blink" on the pitch.

I have to give credit where credit is due, Manchester United were absolutely outstanding against Liverpool. They gave Brendan Rodgers’ side the run around at Anfield and the home side were never in the match. That was testament to United’s performance and I’m backing them to keep that level up at home to Aston Villa.
Tim Sherwood’s men had a bad result against Swansea when the expectation was on them to win and despite the pressure being off when they make the trip to Old Trafford, I can’t see them getting anything.
PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0
First time for everything.

That must of been one of the hardest things he's ever had to write. I'm feeling good about this game, and, without getting too far ahead of ourselves, I think if we get the win here, the pressure will really be on City.
Going into the City fixture riding on the crest of good form, I think, we will get the result there too, then all the pundits claiming we've been disappointing may start to eat their words.
Anyway, first things first, the villa game. I see no other result than a win, yes they went on a decent enough run, but I think that was just a blip of slightly elevated mediocrity, going back to normal with Swansea. I would largely keep the same team as played against Spurs and Pool, maybe giving a bit of time to Rojo and ADM in what would be seen as an easier game of the two coming up, try to find them some form.

Villa will be resting their players for the QPR game on Tuesday. We will hit them with 4 or 5 I reckon.

Who the fuck knows, we should whoop ass with some style and comfort but I think Villa will be set up to frustrate and it won't be so easy. I'll take a small win to keep momentum and a decent competent performance.

He is not injured but 'ill' at the moment and will be fit for the game, according to physioroom.com

Manager says Van Persie not fit enough yet, Shaw back in training and Smalling is ill, he's not sure whether he'll play, looking unlikely though.
