I would imagine every important deal is in place and ready to go, apart from one - hold up being Real reluctance. they never had a problem with throwing money before, why start now. It's a game, like a who has the biggest dick contest. No-one wants to appear to lose face. Laughable really. |

Have to admit I'm not keen on Mcnair at right back either, he played there for N.Ireland and got destroyed by a Scottish player so he couldn't have been that good!
If we can't get someone of the highest standard then we should just leave it as it is.

Laughable really. which is ironic because i bet perez is a pin dick bastard i still don't get how this prevents us from doing other deals, like the Firmino deal, who our keeper is isn't affecting what we do in terms of CAM's. I can understand why they would hold out on defenders, but central midfield up shouldn't be affected surely (so long as we aren't going longball and hire Tony Pulis) |

Midfield they're probably waiting on Schweinsteiger (and by they, I mean LVG) I think potential deals are in place for Gundogan and Schienderlin and have been all along, but I think Gundogan is prepared to wait for Barca. Firmino makes no sense but who knows - we have no idea who is on the way out. It's all about the make up of the midfield VG can get, and wants - those two will be different unless Woodward pulls it out of a top hat with a wand. |

Why do you think it makes no sense ? to be frank, I think it makes a lot of sense considering all the positions he can cover (CAM, wide attacker and even striker). Besides, he has a profile we are missing as he excels at operating in tight spaces, positioning himself in bewteen lines, and providing accurate final balls. He will moreover inject pace and directness, which we badly need. I have a feeling he is one of those low-profile signing who could turn out great. |

I agree, with Depay as well on board and with Rooney/Rvp, Firmino could be the link we need to unlock the bus-parking defenses.

I don't mean it makes no sense in that he's not good enough or 'high profile' enough, I mean how many players who play in that position (in and around the hole) do you want in one team?? Squad size is only 25. I know LVG likes versatility but he also likes Rooney, Mata, Herrera, Pereira, Lingard and every other player who likes playing there.

Club will want youth and some future proofing, LVG will want here and now, next season is his final season. Make of that what you will :lol: I think the one safe bet is Schneiderlin, and he's our third choice. |
