McT does look like he's got it in him to step up properly. But we've got the worst first team midfield in human history, bar Pogba. When Pereira is your starting option for an entire season you know you're pushing the upper levels of credibility. Like Lingard and all the others, they're squad players, some days very good, most days average+, some days poor.

Which is why if we don't sign midfield reforcements we won't be making top 4. I'm excited by our youth team players coming through but in a way Hanson was right when he said you don't win anything with kids, unless you have players like Cantona, Robson, pallister, Bruce, Ince etc etc to help them integrate but unfortunately this time around we don't. Maybe I'm taking the simplistic view but if we can sign Bruno for 70m and he's the difference between us making the top 4 then he basically has half his transfer fee paid with the money we could earn from a good champions league run. Of course if we win it then he'd be a free transfer

Bruno playing for sporting yesterday. Would he be risked if a deal was close?

don't really rate mctominay from what i've seen. He's ok but i can see him being a similar level to what Tom Cleverly was (good squad player, not good enough for the starting squad), then again, I never though Lingard would step up the way he has either.
Bit dissappointed about Dybala but what can you do. That means Fernandes probably goes through so its not the worst thing in the world. We do need midfield help so honestly i wouldn't mind us going for Milnkovic Savic regardless. Also I kind of hope we sell Pogba, i'm a bit over his nonsense cause too often he underdelivers and still complains. Like if he played half as good as we know he can we wouldn't be in the mess we are.

He is a great player but his heart is elsewhere. We should concentrate on players who will give all for Man Utd Football club. That's why I believe that Dybala would have been a failure. Young players are our best option. They should be brought up in such a way that they will give everything for us. I do not believe that we will be anywhere near the top two this year, but I strongly believe that in the future, with young talents, we will prove once again that we are the greatest team in England.

I have a horrible feeling if that happens it's because Pogba goes and we leave Fernandes to Spuds.

I think Eriksen is class so wouldn’t mind that domino effect but of course rather keep Pogba and think we will, Madrid offered what James and 30m(?) thats 80m at best. Just don’t see them stumping up 140m+, Zizou might want Pogba but Perez and co don’t seem too keen.

If Bruno goes to Spuds I'll be well pissed off. We've had all summer to sign him but as it takes Ed 2 weeks to think about taking a shit then another 3 to actually do it it doesn't really surprise me. We should be looking at signing both Bruno and Eriksen, not cheapskating on one or the other. What happens if we sign only Eriksen on the last day, then 2 weeks later Madrid comes in and buys Pogba? We are absolutely fucked is what happens. Yes we have plugged important holes in defence but what I'm wondering is how we're going to score goals? 38 0-0 results could be relegation material

Eriksen would be good but ideally it would be because we can get both of them and Spurs get Dybala (in which case he needs his head examined as to why he'd join spurs and not us).
No way we get a deal for Eriksen in 2 days with a waste of space like Woodward negotiating for us.

Closing the transfer window before Europe was always going to cause problems. The excuse given was they didn't want any distractions when the season started. Makes no sense. Now premier league clubs must be dreading other European clubs coming knocking at their door when our window closes. Pogba and Eriksen, Lukaku are prime examples because there is no chance of signing replacements if they're sold. May as well add De Gea as he still hasn't signed his contract. Don't think there's much chance of him going but if he did and Pogba leaves then or even if just Pogba leaves then we can say hello to a 10th place finish. Disgrace of a club.

I hope their are huge protests if we are in 10th. Basically force the Glazers to sell the club.

Don't actually think we'll finish 10th. I'm just venting We've already had a billion knocked off our share price the last year. The club should be pushing as hard as they can to make sure we at least make top 4 this year. They don't seem to be doing that. I don't care what Ed says. If we don't make top 4 this season then our share price will keep on dropping. The only positive I can take from that is maybe the Glazers will finally realise they don't have a clue of how to run a football club and sell up.
