Yeah, like Robben and Sneijder for example. Yep, those two certainly spring to mind

I actually started to wonder whether, if Bale did join us, his first season would be similar to that of Di Maria's. But having read the '11 Reasons' post, I realised that Bale has played in the Premier League and, of course, is more suited to the style of play in the Premier League than Di Maria was when he first joined. Then again, we've had a bit of an injury curse for the past number of seasons, and it worries me that Bale would be hampered by injury problems were he to become a United player.
I see no valid purpose in signing both him and Depay. Of course, Bale is a fantastic player and would definitely enjoy being at United, but Depay kind of seems like the better investment long-term wise. And he obviously wouldn't cost as much as Bale. But then, if De Gea does depart for the Bernabeu, it would make sense to use a swap deal and bring in Bale, though we would certainly need to pay money for that for happen. I wouldn't sign Bale if we had to pay around £70 million for him. If De Gea does stay, I would rather see United sign Depay for around half the price, hopefully less.
In terms of Real practically killing off some careers, it's a reason why I simply cannot bring myself to admire them as a club. Even exceedingly talented, world-class players, are not secure at Real, simply because Fiorentino Perez is a greedy man always desperate to buy the latest shiny toy every year, and discard the toys already at his disposal. The galactico policy does make Real a mega-club, but I personally find it truly ridiculous and a abhorrence to football.

I see no valid purpose in signing both him and Depay Bale plays left and right, even through the middle while Memphis plays mainly left and through the middle (cuts inside). No real confrontation for positions between the two in my eyes.

Nah. Madrid will have a say in this.

I would very much like that if it meant we could somehow have a try at Matuidi or Verratti.

I see no valid purpose in signing both him and Depay I don't either, although like Nemanja I don't see them as direct rivals for places. But I am worried we would be too "crowded", having too many "star player" that would disrupt the balance of the team: Young may not be everyone's favourite, but we may need another player like him (hard-working, low-profile), rather than 2 Gareth Bale's. As long as we get that one world class attacker, I'll be pleased anyway as our front-line is very much lacking that player. But if Louis wants to add both Depay and Bale, let him be my guest. Depay/Rooney/Bale upfront isn't too bad I guess.

Daily Mail Football Grapevine: 3/5: Strong reports Man United to bid £100m for Bale. 26/4: Bale has £75m clause. 14/3: Bale to cost £100m.
