Well, what can we do more in fairness? Contract is on the table, it's "a lot of money" and the decision is on David himself. Disco Mirror is saying that Louie didn't sound confident at all at the presser.

I've always thought De Gea would go to Madrid one day. I didn't know it could be so soon though.
If he leaves, who do you think would replace him?

If he went this summer I'd be tempted to go for Cech as a relatively cheap stop gap, could get a good 5 years out of him as he's only 32. Wait for the next top young goalkeeper to show himself. I thought Sam Johnstone looked promising at one point and seems to do well whenever he's out on loan, Preston have the 2nd best defensive record in league 1 with him as their keeper. Not saying that's good enough form to throw him into our starting lineup but there's certainly something to work with there, he's a better prospect than Ben Amos has ever looked.
I know people have been impressed with Oblak from Atletico this season but he's not played that much, I'd be waiting another year or 2 to see if he's as good as he originally seems.

Looking around the rumour pages. They suggest Chelsea want around £20million for Cech, also he responded to a United fan on twitter recently who asked would he ever play for United with "You wish!". He may regret that this summer if we do cash in on De Gea and come calling for him. :lol:
This is all completely theoretical of course as I'm maintaining confidence in De Gea staying.

I suppose. When was the last time he played a first team game? Has to be over a year. I guess if we're really stuck a 3 time champions league winning goalkeeper isn't a bad stop gap either!
