It's common sense IMO. Sometimes these philosophies need to be torn right up depending on the opposition and their strengths. Not everything has to be in these extremes.
Fred didn't look to worried about Milan's offences last night when he was practically a striker up in their box setting up Pogba. You just couldn't make it up.

Afterwards last night given our exact situation right now, going for top 4, FA Cup and Europa League ambitions.
I think back to the Liverpool squads under Houllier and Benitez. It was purely their midfield and attack that done the job for them and none of them had any fear in that regard.
They were still the butt of our jokes every weekend as to how they could rise it for a few one off games and then go out and lose or drop points every other weekend to inferior team. That's where we are.
Those Liverpool teams I speak of had a shambolic defence and goalkeeper.
Jersey Dudek won a UCL with the. Fuckin Dudek like.
So the situation we are in isn't an alien concept. We should be well able to find ourselves in that regard and ignore external factors.

Could say Milan looked the more balanced team of the 2 of us over the 2 legs but yet we rocketed them start of 2nd half tonight and reaped the reward. This intensity thing hasn't happened with this United by accident. But it can't be done or sustained throughout for 90 minutes that's just not possible.
We need to realise that this is what works for us. I think in a one off game if it came down we'd beat either. If we show some more of the intensity we somehow found at the start of the second half tonight I think we can do it.
There's no way we can do the patient tippy tappy and move players and find the openings which I'd have the like of Ajax down in the mould of. We're not going to find balance until next season at the earliest but there's enough in this squad to do the job

Forget rebuilds forget transfer windows.
Can United supporters say hand on heart that any of these teams left in the competition have a better squad than us??

Our attack need to have a stormer. We know the defence is unreliably shyte at this stage and can never trust them simple as that. Can we?? Yes. Will we?? Totally different matter 1st half could we?? not a chance. 2nd half we're a totally different animal. And we were professional to see the job through unlike last week I don't know what the fuck that was first half but 2nd half we went up 2 or 3 gears. There's a lot more to discuss than that but we got the result and that's all that matter |
