Januzaj should be playing more, but LVG is being an idiot and not giving him a chance (LVG really hasn't given our youth much hope)
as for Heung Min Son, would be a good signing BUT would he play for us that much, for him, i would stay where i am (and leverkusen is good) or go to another big club where they need an attacking mid/striker and can start (Arsenal comes to mind, or even Liverpool)

Hasn't given our youth much hope. So mcnair and blackett are seasoned proffesionals. And the fact that he has given debuts to atleast 5 youngsters this seasons says he doesnt give youngsters a chance.

Yeah Mcnair and Wilson being in and around the first team all season must have been a figment of my imagination..... So must the fact that Januzaj has started a few games lately as well.

Januzaj has been given chances and he was average throughout the season. He is predictable and has been found out this season. Herrera has done well every time he played except one or two games and yet LVG is not starting him. So Herrera deserves a place in the starting Xl than Januzaj.

“I actually played with 17-year-old players in a [Champions League] final,” van Gaal reminded me. “So don’t say to me that youngsters cannot play football. When you are fitting in a philosophy you can do a lot. And of course Seedorf was playing at 17 in a final. And Seedorf was a fantastic player. [Patrick] Kluivert was 18 – and he scored a goal.”

That proves nothing, fact is he doesn't trust youth and Januzaj might as well leave cos he hasn't played a game for months.

I may go against the global opinion, but I am not so keen on Depay to be fair. Sure he is an interesting player, but in my books he is very much overrated at this point. He may, or may not become a great player, but at the moment he is very raw, his passing and link up play is rather poor. The lad does have technique and dribbling skills, but I don't see that much end product. I just don't see why we would splash the cash on a player who is currently behind Januzaj in his development. We have a tendency to think that the grass is greener elsewhere, but Januzaj is imo a better and far more intelligent footballer than Depay will ever be. It's up to us to develop Januzaj and nurture him. I don't believe Depay could come in and make an instant impact, he would need a few years before making the first team. And I'd rather we nurture the players we already have. Depay in my books looks like another Zaha: great technique, great speed, good athlete etc. but not a good enough footballing brain to move to the next level. Perhaps I am wrong though. If we were to buy a young wide attacker to nurture, I'd much rather we invest that cash on Leverkusen's forward Heung Min Son who has more potential imo. The first bold part reflects my opinion about the player in the second bold part and in general I disagree with that line. In my opinion, Depay would be a regular starter on that left wing instantly, based on that from what I saw of him and compared to Januzaj. Sure, different league, club and all that... If you're looking from that point of view. I'm not sure what's your other basis to form an opinion like that about Depay. Maybe you're right though but in this moment in time I can't agree. Even more, Depay's decision making looks much better to me than Januzaj have as of now. He's also faster and possess a better shot so I'd think he has more than enough to be a starter here if you look at our other options and if we move to the system with wingers.

To be fair, I understand not everyone would accept or understand my comparison with Januzaj and that's fine as I don't want to go into an elaborate debate here.
I don't question Depay's pace, dribbling skills or individual talent. It's from a collective point of view that I don't think Depay is the right choice. We let go of Nani who is just as fast, just as strong, perhaps an even better dribbler, with a much better touch, but who failed to be a vital asset on a consistent basis because he wasn't able to make the team benefit from his individual qualities. It happened with Zaha, and my perspective on football tells me Depay is the same story waiting to happen.
But as I said, I am no scout and I might be wrong. I am fine if we sign him by the way, and I 'll be excited to see how he develops. But right now I think there are better (young) players out there to improve our attack.

Depay has done all he can at PSV and needs the next move to a decent club, he is raw but at 20 years old I don't think you can expect the full package and unlike Zaha seems to have his head screwed on, he listened to Van Gaal in that he shouldn't jump the gun. He is a top talent and has attributes that we are missing, raw pace, running at men, committing defenders, he'd certainly be a great addition to the squad whether or not he'd walk into the first team I'm not sure. Van Gaal knows the player and will get what he wants from him there's no doubt about that.

(LVG really hasn't given our youth much hope) how much has he played januzaj. yeah he played Blackett, McNair, Wilson etc but in all honesty, who else did he have to play. half the squad was injured that time. and if he can play them, why not januzaj, he clearly is the future for us. should be at least getting some cup games

Januzaj has started our last 3 league games when our injury crisis has improved..... Mcnair got a new contract and is in the squad every week, Wilson started against Liverpool when there were other options available and has featured quite a bit and Blackett got some games at the start of the season when we were struggling with injuries admittedly but he still looks a little raw and erratic.
