He scores his fair share that's for sure.
Amazing seeing PSV fans being asked about Depay outside their stadium Yesterday. One of them describing it as "An honour to deliver a player to Manchester United." They all had banners up wishing him well and another saying that we have to love him as much as they do.
I'm trying to work out whether it's refreshing to see this or a little pitiful. Can't imagine a similar scenario happening in England. The banner would read "Hope you break your leg, you cunt!" instead. I suppose they just accept that the better players in Holland are going to leave and join bigger clubs abroad. Just shows the placing the Dutch league has in football now.

I think it's just the way it is. I have no real basis to back it up but I think the Dutch see United as the biggest club in the world whereas the more Southern European countries see it as one of the big two in Spain.
So to Dutch players and fans we are the pinnacle, I can imagine they would be proud at producing a player good enough for the pinnacle, especially at any club that isn't Ajax. Refreshing if you ask me.
I saw a stat the other day saying he'd scored 6 of 29 free kicks before the weekend, so unless he took more (?) yesterday that's 7 in 30 - 23% is Beckham-good. Some poor goalkeeping in some of the ones I've seen though.

Yeah I tend to agree it is refreshing, there's too much vitriol in the English game so to see something like this is really positive. But at the same time it does kind of show why they aren't among the elite leagues in Europe anymore, they're former European Champions and a big club in their own right, to have huge respect for us is one thing but to talk about it being an honour to produce players for us is kinda sad, in my opinion anyway.
It would be nice to play them in Europe next season anyway.

well, give it time and we will be up there again, well we better be, we are easily the biggest in england, and we generate more then any other club in the world minus a government backed real madrid and barca (who will probably have to share the pie with the other la liga teams, hopefully)
These new youth graduates seem to be a lot better than the likes of cleverly, welbeck etc. (Blackett, McNair etc have already started and played well, whilst i have only heard good things about Lingard and Pereira)
give it another two years, i don't think the club are going to gamble anymore with the likes of a moyes, when LVG moves on, we are going for a proven manager i think

I'd like to think of it as PSV fans having some sense and realizing they can't do anything to keep him there. It's really nice to see instead of the abuse players get for switching clubs. An "honour" is a bit too much but I'll take it. Can't imagine what United fans would say if De Gea leaves for Madrid.

I think the relationship between Depay and the PSV fans is brilliant. They absolutely adore him over there and he loves the club.
This is a brilliant watch. As far as I'm aware, this is just a normal fan.
