We've heard "next match would be the decider" for over a month now...I might be wrong but it was a lot quicker with Moyes. Either way, I'm prepared to see the season out with him in charge...or will be, I need to stock up on chocolate

The FA cup is the only thing VG has left, they were never going to get rid of a manager who was in contention for top 4 and FA cup. Things have changed recently tho, top 4 looks exceedingly dodgy atm and FA cup exit might well tip the balance for the board. He wouldn't be sacked anyway, his resignation would be accepted.
I think if he loses to Derby he should go.

I don't believe the rumours that he's gonna quit, knowing the egomaniac that he is he won't quit unless forced to...plus I'm sure he has a hefty sack clause

I disagree. I think he'd rather quit than let it get worse. He's already admitted to letting fans down and has said in the past he'll quit if he feels the players aren't responding to him. I really think the end for him will be soon. If not before the Derby game, almost certainly after it if we lose.

He's already said he'll walk before being sacked, he said he didn't want to go out on a sour note like that. He's a proud man at the end of the day. I'll be sorry if it ends like that too.

I think if they were convinced Giggs was ready or they really wanted Mourinho above all they'd be in already, there is a lack of options right now and if we hire someone now we'd also be ruling ourselves out of the race for Pep come the summer.
The situation with players and manager isn't untenable like it was with Moyes, so while we are still in the race for top four we'll keep him on and at the end of the day LVG is just doing his job. He leaves in the summer by mutual consent or whatever and if we don't get Pep then we've got other options.
