I was laughing at that piece the other day. I wondered how long it would be before one of the wanker hacks tried the opposite angle for click-bait. And lo :o

Was bound to happen, par for the course for someone to put a negative spin on a positive period for the club.

Yeah I saw that as well. Talking about how we've underachieved and if we finish 10 points behind Chelsea it should be seen as a failure because of the money we've spent. Absolute bollocks.

And yet nobody ever challenges the glaringly obvious deficiencies in such a view. Again, no fucking real world context, drives me up the wall.

5 players out...,not to mention Hernandez Powell and Na ni,Vidic,Ferdinand,Evra,Giggs and Scholes...these are players that need to be replaced in any team in the world in any team,we spent but to replace legendary players you have to spend. because we spent people are putting us in the same bracket as citeh and Chelsea....fuck the fuck off..these players need replacing..simple as that is why we are spending,to rebuild our squad, not just cos we have the new money like they did

Why is everyone so determined to fuck the balance over once more?
We've been searching all season for the right balance when playing Rooney and a striker, sometimes Rooney and two strikers, it has become apparent that it isn't going to happen. We found the balance by have Roonay as the striker.
Signing another big name, first choice striker just leads to the same issues we've been trying to get over all season long, what's the point in giving ourselves those issues again? Rooney in midfield doesn't work, Rooney as a #10 rarely works, a strike partnership rarely works, Rooney as a #9 with the right midfield setup is working.
"He is my captain, and my captain shall always [fucking] play!"

I agree, a big money striker isn't needed and as you say will create more problems than solve some.

You need options tho, to mix it up a little. I can see the logic freshening things up a little by getting rid of Falco and RVP and sticking a fresh face in there.

You do need options, but options don't usually include having £40/50m players in bit-part roles.
How many games do you think Rooney will play next season as captain? How many do you expect to be at #9 in a 4-3-3?
If, like me your answers to those questions are 45-50 and the vast majority, then do you think someone like Lewandowski or Cavani would be happy starting the other 10 or so games we'd play? Above all else this season, the lesson that needs to be learned is that having 3 world class number 9s in no way means that you have a potent attack. Having Rooney, van Persie and Falcao has had far more negative effects than it has positive.
Should they both leave then going into the season with just Rooney and Wilson obviously isn't enough, but the space fillers shouldn't be players of that ilk for me. Depay looks a goer out wide and can play through the middle as well, another like that would be plenty.
