Good 45 in an attacking sense but nothing more than we should expect against half a B-side. Defensively with some mistakes which would have cost us against a stronger opponent.

We sent those Bertie's packing  Decent game, good performance and two great counter attacking goals. We're looking good at the minute, the players look strong and confident, it was a good display, attacked with pace and power but most importantly had the end product to go with it. Defensively we were pretty solid, even if it was pre season our defenders put their necks on the line epitomised by Smallings double block and our keepers had relatively very little to deal with. Rashford has been excellent on pre season, this kid just simply has to play and there's good signs in regards to his link up with Lukaku, we also seem to be more direct in our attacking running at players and going in behind plus shooting more often so if we can translate this into the league it will stand us in good stead. |

Smalling starting ahead of Bailly maybe to test him before deciding on his future? Really can't understand the rumours of us letting him go, I know he has his injury problems but he's a good defender and a beast in the air which the others can't touch him on. Unless we're going to bring in a top defender which looks unlikely with the addition of Lindelof we need to keep him. |

He's a squad player, not quite smart enough in the head , or feet, at elite level but he'll do a job in the EPL, as will Jones, as will Rojo, as will Blind. We don't have a Rio / Vidic partnership yet but you can see Jose pinning his hopes on Bailly and Lindelof.
Delightful finishes from Rom and Marcus, we're looking good and confident. Get a CDM in there and we're good to go.

Would like to see him in midfield too but perhaps a little raw and rash for it at the minute.
Definitely needs game time this season be it as a proper squad player or a loan, he is physically ready and has the attributes but in game knowledge is lacking.

Pereira as well, looking more a senior player than a talent in pre-season. Maybe has his breakthrough season ahead. Looks good on the ball.
Lingard good again.
Brilliant assist from tony. He needed that badly, quiet half otherwise.
Jones another one impressing.

Good first half, a neat and tidy possession game with not too much action in front of goal from either side. Brilliant dribble for the goal from Martial.
Second half was crap and it seemed nobody was arsed. Lindelof is really struggling, going to take him a while to bed in, it was an odd signing for me as he doesn't seem a typical Jose defender but he has a good record with his defenders so hopefully he'll come good.
And the penalties.. the less said the better :lol:

Good first 20 but then it faded. Terrible with the ball after that, giving the ball away far to easy.
