Who would you prefer to play RB when Rafa is injured... along with most of our backline?

We didn't play well, but got the 3 points, we've made a nice living off that over the years. Chins up lads?

OK, So I know we have injury problems but Valencia playing at right back? With an opposition who wants to defend we need wingers who are willing and able to get behind them and make telling crosses. Having huge possession sounds great but we are playing keep the ball across the pitch. Wayne Rooney playing so deep is a joke. Di Maria out of position. Fellaini needs a haircut to remind him where is Forehead is ! I watched the QPR game and they played with more attacking zeal than United have done most of the season. Sorry to say but the entertainment value given out by United as Gone. I actually clipped my toenails whilst waiting for some real action. To be honest, I thought Toni V did alright at RB. Made some crucial tackles and I thought he and Shaw showed a lot of energy in the fullback positions. Roo had the play deep because we only had 1 Central Mid, Carrick in the middle and nobody is picking out balls in the center. Could be LVG's error in having only 1 CM playing yesterday. There's no link up play from the back to the front and whenever someone tried to orchestrate and attack from the middle, the front players get closed down too easily due to lack of movements in th middle.

And that's a big part of the reason why we're unable to create something through the middle and looking so clueless. Even when forwards are moving into spaces, they're not getting enough service and support, staying isolated.

Exactly Miroslav. Fellani been playing well but do you think he should be sacrificed and Herrera be brought back into play with Carrick in the middle? We could play the diamond again where Roo drops a little bit deep with Mata supporting RVP in attack and Di Maria and Januzaj/Toni V on the other flank.
There was so much movement when we played this formation earlier in the season and LVG changed it after the Leicester loss. It wasn't because of the formation we loss, it was due to individual errors, lack of focus and a tiny wee bit of refereeing decision that caused us that match.

I believe so spy. When we have the ball afro moves too far forward hoping for a long ball. While Carrick goes between the cb to make it into a 3 man back line. Hererra links the play perfectly.

Exactly mani. We are playing too deep and reverting to long ball tactics again when afro plays. He has been playing alright, winning headers, getting knock downs , etc but i think it just doesn't suit or fit well with all the talents surrounding him at the moment. Most of them prefer the short passes, one twos and using their abilities getting pass their markers... crossing the balls into the box, etc.

What's worrying is it's so obvious to see. Rooney drops back and fucks things up because he cannot orchestrate play. Di Maria is one who can and he's stuck out on the wing. Yesterday wookie should of been brought off with Herrera brought on who's another who can make things happen. Another who can make things happen is Mata but when he was brought on he went straight out to play on the wing although he did score the winner. These 3 players are what makes us tick. We had 2 playing out wide and one that didn't even get on. The only sense this makes to me is nonsense. VG has a lot to learn about the EPL starting with we need creative players in the middle to get the team ticking but that is just common sense, basic management skills.

We all know we are way better than the way we played yesterday. I heard Lvg talking about Falcao in his press conference not balancing the team or something like that. I don't what yesterday was if Falcao unbalances the team, we need someone with a better first touch and link up play than Rooney in the middle and he was on the bench. Rooney needs to be further forward rvp needs to be benched a bit but that will never happen, we just need to go back to the diamond against Arsenal they aren't even physical. we have platers to beat arsenal at the emirates without fellaini despite playing well maybe he can come back against Liverpool.

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

good point well made Kord, points are points at the end of the day and we will take any we can get at the moment, such a bonus that most of the teams we will probably be competing for a top four place dropped points

I thought we played ok on Saturday given the form Palace's back nine were in.
Sure, we'd all like to see the ball moved quicker and more pace to the attacking play, but it's difficult to do that against any team who comes solely to get everyone behind the ball. I don't like the current setup at all, I've said a million times that Di Maria needs to be central but I don't think any set up would've really made much difference to the pattern of the game.

Did Smalling have his zip open? Those 2 on the right look like they've just seen a baby elephants trunk.
