I love this extract "I have already explained that," he responded. "I am training in another way than most of the other managers are doing. I train players in their brains.Does this mean that Wazza can soon take his 11 plus

Would have liked to see Wilson instead of RVP up front alongside Rooney with Fellaini (at the top), Herrera, Di Maria and Blind in a midfield diamond. But Sadly it looks like that won't be the case and the diamond is no more. Although it could be just a trick I'd doubt Van Gaal is bothered to play mind games with Crystal Palace. Had a feeling he would change back to a 3-5-2 though now that most of our CB's and Raf are out meaning Carrick being deployed in between McNair and Blackett for ball playing skills and experience while Valencia being pushed up to RWB to compensate the fact he can't play as a RB, Blind playing behind Herrera and Di Maria with Roo and Robin up front.
Player wise 4-1-4-1 doesn't make a whole lot of since, we've only got 1 real winger in Januzaj yet we need 2 for this formation and have 3 strikers who where all once hailed as world class and can only play 1 of them, but if it must be then: --------------De Gea---------- Valencia-McNair-Blackett-Shaw --------------Blind------------ Januzaj-Fellaini-Herrera-Di Maria --------------Rooney------------

I've seen nothing lately to suggest that Blackett is going to start next to McNair so maybe Carrick?

It's today ....... it's hard to wait soooooooooooo long between matches Come on lads - 3 points and nothing less kordjazzAdnan was better in the last matches compared to his previous performances - I agree he hasn't been brilliant so far this season But the poor kid had to be sacrificed against City when Smalling showed too much derby passion. It seems he's improving with game time - I would say why not start him against Palace By the way is there a chat on here for the match .......... I know

I never wanted Manchester United to be second to anybody. Only the best would be good enough

the thing i noticed lately with Januzaj and Shaw they do link up well but there is very few good crosses into the box by either of them , they tend to get down the line and loose the opportunity to whip it in, it gets passed back and through the middle which is so much easier to defend. lets hope if they are both playing today they get it down the wing and get some good crosses with pace into the strikers (whoever they may be)

well that'll be striker (singular) now that LVG has basically come out and said he'll only play with one. I think it's almost a certainty that it's going to be RvP.

1 striker with one in behind ? so Rooney in the hole with RVP or Wilson at the front , whatever the scenario or formation we def need better service into the box i reckon

I'd also like to see Di Maria playing centrally. Always feel he's outstanding when playing centrally, or certainly from what I saw of him at Real. Yeah, at the start of the season with us too. Don't know why we dropped 4-4-2 diamond when it was functioning quite well and began this Bayernesque experiment with 4-1-4-1. Since that point, our creative play in the final third started to suffer and Mata was one of the victims. He looks so ineffective now, especially when pushed on the right side. Hopefully, we'll revert back to the setup that was working so well at the very beginning. Di Maria's drifting out wide anyway as well as Herrera and with Valencia and Shaw we really have enough width, while at the same time our creative and penetrative players are much more effective when not stuck to the byline. I hope I'm wrong though and this new setup starts to work.

United XI: De Gea, Valencia, McNair, Blind, Shaw, Fellaini, Carrick, Januzaj, Rooney, Di Maria, van Persie
I'm guessing Blind at CB.

Can't wait to see Mata's goal again, it looked like it went straight through the keepers gloves but I hope I'm wrong and it was actually a good shot, the shot that hit the post was good though. Van Persie should have scored! I really don't like the set up at the minute, Van Persie is too isolated, Di Maria is too wide, Rooney's too deep, Herrera's been missed but happy for Mata, he's now joint top United scorer for the season and can we please get a back up for Rafael in January, he's never going to complete a full season!! James Wilson looks like he offer more then Rvp and even Falcao once he's back
