Merson says ..............
Manchester United v Stoke
I can't see anything but a Man Utd win. Stoke are all over the place from set plays, that used to be a strength for them and now they are letting in goals from set plays against Crystal Palace and West Brom. Man Utd scored three goals against Leicester from set plays, so that tells you everything. They had to put in a performance against Leicester and they did. They were under pressure and they played well.
PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

Well the set-up against Leicester worked a treat so hopefully we can reproduce some attractive football and take the three points - predicting 3:0
DDG
Tony V Bailly Smalling Blind Schneiderlin
Herrera Pogba
Mata Zlatan Rashford
I'd stick with Blind at LB - I'd like to see Morgan get a game as well - will Mou leave Rooney on the bench again ?

BS KO time again, with a bit of luck they're up and ready for it Leicester stylee. Although if Fellaini starts you can forget it, it'll be a turgid war of attrition.

Stoke have been dire, they've lost that strong defensive nous since Pulis left and they are pretty soft these days too. We should be able to beat them pretty convincingly and Stoke haven't won at OT since 1976.
I'd go with Rach's team but with Carrick over Schneiderlin. In fact since we're at home, same team from the Leicester game.

A team without Fellaini starting and I'all be happy. A team without Fellaini starting and I think we'll attack with power and speed and I think we'll dominate over their shaky confidence.
2-0 final score

Based on Rachs lineup of :
DDG
Tony V Bailly Smalling Blind / Shaw
Carrick
Herrera Pogba
Mata Zlatan Rashford
Jose will I believe stick with Mata over Rooney. We should be up 3-0 BY Half Time and then Jose can ring the changes. Rooney for Mata, Blind / Shaw reversed.
My bet 4 - 1 to United

 love to see the confindence going into that match, but yeah Stoke are surprisingly poor this season so it's hard to imagine anything but a win here. And if we do draw or lose then I'd be speechless. Not sure how ready Shaw is so I'd stick with Blind as well. I'd go with Mathieson's version, but if Micky is not quite right I wouldn't mind Jesse there.

That's the team excited subs Romero, Darmian, Carrick, Fellaini Memphis Rooney Martial

That was the team to take us forward. Great first 30-35 minutes then we stepped off the gas. Started the second slowly but still had chances to put them under pressure. Great goal from Martial and a rare mistake from De gea. I'd be more worried if we weren't creating anything but we are. Just have to be more clinical because on another day we could of knocked 4 past these. I've no doubt that in the end we'll come good.

I think Mou has been doing some good job, taking all that BS from LVG's style away. We're once again having phases where we completely destroy teams, putting them under huge pressure and making the game impossible for them. I think right now it's all about being more clinical to kill games off early. I even see glimpses of the old SAF style sometimes, where we attack, attack, attack.
I see a lot of potential in this team, but this season will be too soon for greater achievements. As soon as we become more clinical and find the right balance (dropping Rooney was obviously a massive step forward imo) we will see what this team can truly do.
A bit disappointed by the result obviously, but we're getting there I think.
