Josep Gombau (Gombwow) has left Adelaide United
The technical director Amor has taken over
it is likely that Gombau is of New York City FC (as an assistant i think, though he is a better manager than kreis and would actually make them watchable)
edit:
Confirmed Josep Gombau has moved to New York to start an academy (not related to NYCFC, weirdly enough, but is being payed by them, not sure how that works) and wants to spend more time with his family
fair enough i say, New York, its safe to say, is much better to live in, than Adelaide, when you have that kind of money

I think this may hamper a deal for Babalj to Adelaide possibly, though he is a great fit there (as a roar fan, i would love to see him there, with Broich moving to an AM and McLaren and Borello as the wide players, we would have a tall center half for the first time in idk how long)

not really anything australian football related but the plastic levels are high for this
Real Madrid 4-1 Manchester City
City got wrecked, not even close to being up to standard, fair enough real madrid are the best in the world but if Pellegrini doesn't get them up to standard he's getting the sack early
Crowd: 99,382 (now, if we could get about 30% of that crowd for the Vuc, who in fairness do pretty much get 25k in a 30k stadium, and melbourne city, then it would be great)

Amateur hour at the roar
our Indonesian overlords forgot to pay Queensland Rugby Union rent for Ballymore
basically as a result we're facing liquidation
hope that local consortium come through and take over or the FFA come in

ok no, the roar themselves will not be liquidated, it is the owners(i.e. the bakries) getting chased after by the QRU (because franchising etc since the FFA still is the franchisor)
so thinking the consortium come in a lot earlier
well this is in theory, but there is about a 0.1% chance the club folds considering the FFA will not want to lose its only team in the 3rd largest city
still, we've been a basket case of a club for the last 15 months

and if the FFA take over players are gone
we're either going to be very bad next season or not exist
hopefully the sale is done in the next 2 weeks

In the FFA Cup
Broadmeadow Magic 1-3 Heidenburg United
Crowd: 1342
basically Heidenburg from Victoria's NPL destroyed Broadmeadow of the NNSW premier league. they scored their 3 goals in 30 minutes, i was expecting something like 7-0
Hume City 4-3 Brisbane Strikers (ET)
Strikers had to fuck this up, not once, but twice. Chalmers was awful in goals for the strikers. They should have won the game, after leading twice, first time they conceeded after 30 seconds, then they conceeded after a short period of time again, then going on to lose in the last minute of extra time. no concentration from anyone out there. Congrats to Hume City but the strikers should have had a secure victory
Crowd: 900
Palm Beach 1-1 South Melbourne (Palm Beach 8-7 South Melbourne on penalties)
Crowd: 1600
with somewhat of an upset for Palm Beach, South Melbourne dominated large portions of this game and should have really have won 3-1 But being that poor up front will cost you. Palm Beach looked decent on the counter but South Melbourne dominated the midfield, Epifano should be in the a-league now, such a skillful player. Would start for Newcastle easily, i would take him at the roar honestly. He would definitely make any squad in the a-league, even melbournes. This is the signing teams should be making, not signing shit players like Jason Hoffman again because teams can't be bothered scouting the npl
Blacktown City 1-2 Metrostars
another cupset with the leaders of the NSWPL Blacktown City going down to the metrostars who are 7th atm in South Australia (the NSWPL and the Victorian Premier League are basically the two best state leagues in the country, whilst South Australia's is behind those two and the Queensland Premier League) mind you though, the metrostars are the NPL National champions so maybe this should be expected

Croydon Kings 1-2 Queensland Lions
Lions scrape through away from home against the Kings, good showing from the Lions who aren't even in the NPL Qld (in the brisbane league)
Darwin Olympic 1-6 Adelaide United
was 1-1 at one stage, then adelaide just started toying with them in the 2nd. Massive gulf in quality but the fact they managed to score is promising at least. Darwin did have a good showing, if an actual 2nd division starts up (which it should) then Darwin has to be a shoe in for it.
Rockdale City Suns 3-1 Perth SC
Rockdale were dominant, they're probably one of the better non-a league teams in this years cup, depending on the draw they could go to the quarters and even make a cup run
Crowd: 1857 (solid turnout)
Sorrento FC 0-2 Sydney FC
My eyes, my poor poor eyes. Sorrento with the hoofball taking football back to the 1950's. Sydney FC couldn't hit the barn door the way they were playing (they had over 20 shots) posession was about 80% Sydney also, Sorrento parked the bus big time though, had about 9 back even when they went 1-0 down. In the 2nd half they played a lot better and even had a stretch were they played better, but then Sydney got the 2nd and it was all over. Honestly, terrible game though, the fact it was the feature game makes it worse. Would rather have seen more of the Lions-Croyden game or Rockdale game even then this. One positive was crowd was good, shame they didn't play it at Sorrento's home ground and played it instead at NIB.

what have perth done, signing Marc Warren who is quiet possibly the worst player to put on a Sydney FC jersey along with Trent Mclennan, would be better of finding a state league player, but clubs like the glory and newcastle can't be bothered about doing that, and thats why they are always losing
Hagi Gligor is a fantastic signing since he is going to start.

Glory have announced the signing of their new Marquee player Diego Castro
he last played for Getafe
how the hell Perth pulled this off idk but its a good signing, he is a bit older at 33 but still should be quality. Also he's going to have teammates like Marc Warren, and his manager is Kenny Lowe. That is a worry

the East Asia cup is currently on
so far in the final stage
North Korea 2-1 Japan
yes, you read right, Japan lost to North Korea
China 0-2 South Korea
Japan 1-1 South Korea
China 2-0 North Korea
Tonight is the South-North Rivalry and China v Japan
So long as South Korea don't capitulate they should win, Japan have been that poor, they need some changes i think, Halildzovic hasn't been as good as advertised, i don't blame him for taking a J-League based squad but really, a J-League based squad should still get results. and with Bielsa on the market, provided he doesn't take the Mexican job, he would fit them perfectly, actually the former Mexican manager would be a good fit also for Japan. Then again chopping and changing before the world cup qualifiers won't do them any good, either way, they should qualify easily, if they don't he would be the worst manager in history for them

theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/08/10/roar-ownership-talks-break-down-major-sponsor-signsi don't give a shit about the sponsor (ok, thank god we didn't get ladbrokes as our main sponsor, their ads featuing that chav has me done), we're fucked, this shitty group of owners are so damn skint they basically put in the bare minimum, thankfully we have had the best managers in the league (First Ange then Magic Mike) honestly FFA are probably going to take back the license from the bakries, we need this sorted out ASAP, because the season is just around the corner mind you i could also see the FFA just taking it off of them (paying the bakries a nominal compensation or something) then giving it to the consortium for whatever they got it of the barkies for, or for a small profit. hoping this happens hopefully the den make themselves useful for once and have a protest against them. Knowing them they'll just get drunk and chant your shit aaaaahhhhh at the keeper.

Central Coast Mariners 0-1 Wellington Phoenix Newcastle Jets 2-2 Perth Glory (Glory 4-3 Newcastle on penalties) Oakleigh Cannons 1-1 FNQ Heat (Oakleigh Cannons 5-4 FNQ Heat on penalties) Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 Brisbane Roar
Roar were shit, Petratos has blackmail info because he started over clut again, despite clut being one of best midfielders now, he should be the 2nd or 3rd name on the teamsheet. Clear to see we won't win anything and will miss out on finals football Mariners are in the same boat, because the phoenix haven't replaced burns yet, they will announce his replacement soon Glory scrape through against a jets team that looks better i guess, still bad but its an improvement over last season under stubbins where they would have lost this game 2-0 or 3-0 Heat equalised in the 120th minute after the cannons scored first in extra time, however it was not to be for them with the cannons going through
