Tomi Juric is about to sign with Roda JC in Holland (finally signed for a club) and Danny De Silva is being loaned there
both, if they play first team football, should be shoe ins for the national team. Rostyn Griffins could take Milligan's spot (he went to an oil league, ange ain't selecting him again, not that i blame milligan for taking the money at this stage of his career)
now Jedinak needs to leave Palace and go to West Brom and play for Pulis, seems like a natural fit next to Fletcher also

the Jets have signed Leandro, he last played for TSV Munich. He has played for RB Salzburg relatively recently
seems like a good pickup on paper at least
also Milos Degenek, currently of 1860 Munich has been selected for the olyroos, confirming his international future, he looked like he might play for Serbia but getting selected for Aus is great
we've secured Mrcela, hopefully Jovanovic also gets secured and at least centrally, we are secure

just on the east asia cup
South Korea won with 5 points China finished 2nd on 4pts, beating north korea on goal difference (china with 0 and North Korea with -1) North Korea came 3rd, also on 4pts Japan came 4th surprisingly with only 2pts, very bad showing from them, going home winless
both south korea and japan experimented, using domestic players
Surely with a j-league based squad, japan should have at least been runners up, the j-league is the best league in asia, with those players you should be able to win

some state league news, but pretty big news for Brisbane City, easily the most recognisable manager to manage in queensland, given that city are a club that are almost there, this might push them to be the team in the state, and maybe make the contenders for the NPL (i would imagine he would start recruiting some top players who aren't in the a-league)
City though have been terrible this season, coming 2nd last, so understandable they need something of this magnitude to change what they're doing, i would love to see them become reasonably big, who knows, maybe if a 2nd division comes in, they might get past the strikers and start playing in ballymore
anyway this is how the regular season finished in the npl
1 Moreton Bay United FC Snr Mens 18 12 4 2 45 22 23 40 2 Brisbane Strikers FC Snr Mens 19 12 4 3 42 22 20 40 3 Redlands United FC Snr Mens 20 11 3 6 47 26 21 36 4 Olympic FC Snr Mens 20 11 3 6 51 31 20 36 5 FNQFC Heat Snr Mens 20 9 4 7 47 34 13 31 6 Brisbane Roar FC Snr Mens 18 8 4 6 46 26 20 28 7 Northern Fury FC Snr Mens 19 9 0 10 39 39 0 27 8 Palm Beach SC Snr Mens 17 7 3 7 28 22 6 24 9 Sunshine Coast FC Snr Mens 20 7 2 11 33 43 -10 23 10 Western Pride FC Snr Mens 19 7 1 11 35 50 -15 22 11 Brisbane City FC Snr Mens 19 6 1 12 28 50 -22 19 12 South West Queensland Thunder FC Snr Mens 19 0 1 18 16 86 -70 1
So as you can see, Moreton bay won on goal difference over the strikers (which is huge, Moreton Bay were always there but not really contenders, winning is huge), redlands 3rd and olympic 4th. The roar youth were very good, best finish since they came in, same with Far North Queensland in 5th.
North Queensland having a pretty meh season, no reason that a former a-league club should be so meh. Palm Beach probably the shock of the season, the defending champs and has been queenslands representative in the ffa cup doing so badly, seriously, that is bad. Sunshine Coast also with a pretty bad season by their standards, usually they come around 5th or 6th but it does happen Pride finished around where they would again city with one of their worst showing in the new format as for south west queensland, which poor sucker of a team drew with them, they're awful (no really, they would come last in the brisbane premier league also)

The Phoenix have signed Jeffrey Saprong, he last played for NAC Breda in Holland and has played for Real Sociedad in the past
seems like a good replacement for Burns
also the roar, despite paying their players, might have players leaving due to the whole saga, and i say fair enough, absolute joke right now
we need the ffa to take over, hopefully we can at least retain our younger talent (Donachie, Clut, Borello, mcclaren etc), Devere, Brattan and maybe broich because he is so iconic to us. i wouldn't be too upset if we lost other players such as pet rat, polenz, steffanuto, brown. they're replaceable.

Adelaide United 2-1 Sydney FC
Adelaide squandered two great chances but get through, it was interesting towards the end, mcgowen getting a red and a bit of a shove off, some punches thrown i think (seb ryall being a diving little shit as per the usual). Adelaide may be better this season though under the new manager, fans made a lot of noise
Lions FC 0-1 Perth Glory
bit disappointed, Perth win in extra time with only 10 men for most of the game so credit to them, so all the brisbane teams are now out. Lions FC need to join the NPL, they're wasted in the Brisbane Premier League, they have enough money, they have the home ground (holds 2.5k) and certainly the talent to be at least mid table, they need to do it, would pretty much be the npl team on the western suburbs of brisbane, great run though from them. Honestly they outplayed Perth by the sounds of it, in fact somewhat dominated it.
Heidelburg United 2-0 Sydney United
Heidelburg wins convincingly, Sydney United let in a very soft goal in the end and honestly would have to be disappointed with their performance
Melbourne City 5-1 Wellington Phoenix
this was 4-1 at the half to city, Nix didn't show up, absolutely woeful, they look like a team who will be near the bottom, they need to bolster up their defense a lot, they may have lost Burns, but they lost defenders like Boxall also, who they haven't done anything to replace, also Italiano with an absolute shocker, he isn't a first team goalkeeper yet in the a-league, they really need to try get another keeper. My pick would be either Stefan Marinovic (plays in Germany atm for a Regionaliga team) or Max Crocombe (who plays for Oxford United) either one would be going to a better club (a-league is easily better than league two, mercifully) but both are NZ national team goalkeepers, Glen Moss isn't anymore, hell even a guy like Jake Gleeson or Tamati Williams would be better than Italiano, Moss wouldn't have even done as badly as that.

FFA lays down gauntlet for Brisbane Roar and Bakrie Group ahead of crucial meeting for A-League club Posted 35 minutes ago Football Federation Australia (FFA) chief executive David Gallop has thrown down the gauntlet to the embattled owners of Brisbane Roar, demanding they immediately address the club's extensive financial problems or its A-League licence will be revoked. The strongest comments yet on the matter from FFA come ahead of a key meeting on Friday between federation officials and Bakrie Group powerbrokers, which should go some way to resolving a saga that has dogged the three-time A-League champions for months. "It is timely that the meeting is taking place tomorrow because the Bakrie Group's ownership of the Brisbane Roar is now in the balance," said Gallop in a statement. "The choice is very clear. If the Bakrie Group wants to stay in the A-League, the debts need to be addressed immediately, wages need to be paid to staff and stability restored. "The Brisbane Roar is a great club and its licence is a highly valuable asset. We are very confident that, if necessary, we can stabilise the club, find a new investor and create a bright future for the club. But the current uncertainty is damaging the club and we are no longer in a position to tolerate the situation." www.abc.net.au/news/2015-08-27/ffa-lays-down-gauntlet-for-roar-and-bakrie-group/6730694bakries can fuck off, useless shits hanging on. get the sale through so we can actually have a season

Brattan now a F.A
well, now their is literally no reason the FFA don't take over the club
as for Brattan, hope its a move overseas and not to another a-league club (especially not sydney or the victory, we have lost too many players to the victory) The netherlands would be good for him, if Rostyn Griffiths is their, he would get a gig, also he is a championship standard starter also, given his english background that is always an option. a smaller la liga club or liga aldente club could fit his playing style
hope he moves to europe, its the next step in his career and would benefit the socceroos, with Milligan in the UAE now, Brattan can become a regular starter if his next move is right

Tommy Oar has finally signed for a club
he is joining Mick McCarthy and Ipswich Town
to be fair, not that excited about the move, hopefully he is a regular starter for them at least. If he plays well enough at least he is in the shop window for a premier league team, in fact Ipswich could be a premier league team next season anyway

James Troisi chasing that money, he has signed with Al-Itthiad (better than the UAE and Qatar, rubbish move still, he should be in europe, more than good enough) some of the top clubs in Saudi are quality (i.e. Al Itthiad, Al-Hilal etc) but the middle and bottom clubs are terrible
Robbie Kruse has been loaned out to Stuttgart with an option to buy, good move there
and in a-league news, City have signed Thomas Sorensen, the 40 year old former danish international keeper, not going to lie, if he is coming in as a keeper coach and not taking up too much space, good move, but he shouldn't be starting over Tando Velaphi, who actually has looked really good for the first time in ages, if i'm Tando i would want out and get maybe a move to the Nix, they really need a starting keeper and Ernie Merrick, who brought him in for the victory in 2011, could have him starting in wellington this season

Rockdale did incredibly well, as did Palm Beach for most of the game at least (faded towards the end) The Metrostars keeper cost them with one of the biggest howlers i have ever seen at any level Hume City were far too good for Olympic, another class really

Now for the drama
Socceroos are now not doing anything media related as they aren't getting paid for it, which only is furthering the FFA-PFA feud thats going on right now (yeah De Bohun needs to be sacked for being an idiot, that guy has no idea)
Anyway this feud is very much public now, not good for football in australia
also at the state level, Football Queensland has cancelled the last round of the NPL Qld, which was a championship deciding round with Brisbane Strikers and Moreton Bay both on 49 points after 22 games, with Moreton Bay having the superior goal difference (by 2 goals). So Moreton Bay wins the NPL Qld, and will now represent Queensland in the national NPL competition. Needless to say, the strikers are livid.
These were to be the last round fixtures (well, the ones that matter in terms of positions)
South West Queensland Thunder v Moreton Bay United Brisbane Strikers v Northern Fury
Most likely Moreton bay would have thumped the Thunder by more than 5, with the Strikers winning, but not by that much. So Moreton Bay most likely would have won, but they should have still played the fixtures
someone suggested that their is a one match playoff hosted by Moreton Bay, and then let that sort things out, i honestly think that may be the best idea, it at least gives the strikers a chance if they win by more than 2 goals.

Australia 5-0 Bangladesh
Perth getting their first game in a decade, and frankly, we were great for the first 30 where we scored 4 goals in the first 30, they parked the bus for the whole game but this should have been a 15-0 game for us, we dominated them so badly, just that we did sweet fuck all with it, we literally had 80 percent posession, Not even joking even Malaysia or Singapore would have thumped them 3-0 easily, actually given the u23 malaysian team beat them, the malaysian team would thump them by more. Bangladesh were so bad even the commentators made a point of it, they will not pick up a point, i really think there is a chance they won't, the scoreline flattered them very much, on top of that there was absolutely no conditioning from them, their players were dropping like fly's over nothing, so we can assume the coaching was just awful as was the fitness, which was funny because we got called for all the fouls because apparently its a crime to be bigger than your opponent (the spiranovic fouls were legit, idiot had his hand resting on the back of the bangladeshi player)
South Korea 8-0 Laos
damn, Uli has them on fire, they've been amazing since the asian cup, can see them not dropping a single point, they look like the most dangerous team in asia
Japan 3-0 Cambodia
Japan are in trouble, a 3-0 win is really bad against a team like Cambodia, that should have been at least 6-0. Saitama does look amazing with the full house, Haliladozovic had a freaking weird formation, Honda further up front that Kagawa, Muto starting besides being all sorts of shit in the east asian cup and kagawa kinda deep, they've actually gotten worse since the asian cup.
Turkeministan 1-1 Iran
Iran had a ridiculously bad game, its so sad at the moment Guam have 2 wins from 2 at the moment (thank you india for being a damn disgrace, no seriously, how the hell did you manage to lose to guam) Iran couldn't beat a team that Guam beat, how the hell did they manage that. I can imagine in Tehran they will not be happy

Malaysia playing UAE later . Did you watch the Japan match Spens? Jap had like 90% possession. They just kept passing the ball around the penalty box. Cambodia defense were also well disciplined.
