After the 'world wide' search from Central Coast Mariners (seriously, i think its a running gag now in the a-league that term) they have appointed Tony Walmsley as their manager.
he's not bad to be honest but why do clubs bullshit, i mean central coast are probably the biggest shambles next to newcastle and the glory at the moment, their fans hate the owner, the godfather of the club (Lawrie McKinna) who happens to be the mayor wants no part of the team.
obviously central coast being a team that has won the a-league, they need to be kept in, but come on now, they need Charlesworth out of ownership and someone needs to come in who will keep this team in gosford for certain

Group H is a bit of an interesting one, Uzbeks will get through (i do think they'll lose) but the race for 2nd isn't going to be straight forward at all, any of those 4 teams could get it (i'd say North Korea is the most likely out of those teams)
Our group is not too bad, the travel is going to be a bitch though. couldn't we get East Timor or Indonesia. all away trips send us to Central Asia (Bangladesh is closeish to there also) and the middle east
China and Qatar going to flatten group C.
and sorry about Singapore Jerry. that doesn't look like a good group for you guys (Japan and Syria, i mean it could be worse, you could have drawn palestine, thailand or lebanon to make it that much worse), but if you pull off a result against Syria, you are moving in the right direction.
Iraq have it bad, Vietnam and Thailand are dangerous. If they aren't careful they could lose (i doubt it, they are one of the strongest teams in asia atm)
Malaysia as a bottom seed is a bit ridiculous, tough group also, Saudi Arabia is arguably more talented than UAE, just that Saudi's players are selfish and entitled to say the least, if they had a bit of cohesion they would be one of the strongest in asia for sure (probably only 2nd to Iran in West Asia)

Singapore aren't in the easiest group in the world, but we better be able to beat Afghanistan and Cambodia! If not, I don't know whether I can still have any hope left in me. Japan are obviously far too strong and Syria are better than us- though we did beat them at home in 2013, so I can hope we can achieve similar results. Malaysia don't look to have a very good group, and just like us are probably going to finish 3rd at best.
Australia should be wiping the floor with that group IMO.

Singapore are in an easy group imo. Malysia have defeated Syria a few times. They are slightly better than Singapore...just slightly. Japan will walk away with the top spot but the 2nd spot could be Syria, Afghanistan or Singapore. In fact, I am more worried about Afghanistan rather than Syria if I am Singapore. Malaysia on the other hand are in a tough group. There's zero chance they are able to get anything from UAE or Saudi home and away. East Timor should be our easiest opponent. I am still wondering how they are ranked above Malaysia when we had just defeated them 5-1 and 4-0 less than a year ago. Palestine are no pushovers. They thrashed Malaysia in an Olympic qualifier game 4-1. I think we might get something at home but thrashed away. 7 Points maximum from Malaysia. Of all the South East Asian teams, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam have the best chance to qualify to the next round as they are grouped together. Why can't Malaysia be in that group. Australia are also in a weak group. Can't see Tajikstan, Kyrgistan and Bangladesh giving them a fight. Jordan could be dangerous but Australia are just too strong for them.

we have to travel all over the place though. its annoying. and Jordan are could be a problem away, at home we should get the win (we have no excuses to not beat them convincingly) but that away trip, which is basically halfway across the world isn't going to be good, though if we do plan it right we could have it so that our squad playing in europe comes in (though that will prove to be a problem also due to the differences in climate between europe and jordan) but in saying that, we should be winning every game with basically no exceptions, apart from travel, draw was very kind to us
i would think malaysia should get 6 points from East Timor (home and away) and given saudi being pretty out of form for years as well as palestine being erratic to say the least, thats a potential 2-4 points there, you could get 10pts if you play good at home (maybe getting the win in unfamiliar conditions)

Wellington Phoenix 3-2 Central Coast Mariners
Nix, well, nix the victory in deep deep stoppage time (95th minute) from a cunningham goal to keep their premiership hopes alive

Newcastle Jets 3-4 Sydney FC
Sydney barely get home against the Jets, who in all fairness didn't look to bad at all. it sends them level on points with the victory (the victory have a game in hand and superior goal difference)

Brisbane Roar 0-1 Melbourne Victory
Fantastic showing by our youngsters, honestly looked a whole lot better than our senior team mid week. though the difference was that cunt ben williams
what a piece of shit of a ref, again costing us a match. i wouldn't be this irate but considering the way the kids played, they hardly deserved any less than a draw, they where brilliant. so ben williams doing this shit is ridiculous, its even worse the way he carries himself with such arrogance (same goes for Kris Griffith Jones and a lot of other officials in the a-league).
Crowd: 11 582

Perth Glory 3-1 Melbourne City
goes to show you how shit city is that they can't beat a team that isn't even going to be in the finals (and they're going to be in 5th) big crowd protest going on (ok, maybe not big) with fans staging a protest demanding that sage leaves the club.
Crowd: 5821 (lowest of the season but not an all time low, i thought it would be much worse, i thought they may just break the record, with it also going up against the AFL and the Western Derby, at the same time, in Perth, and WA being probably being on of the major AFL states, thats not a good thing)

theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2015/04/24/aucklands-tribulietx-candidate-roar-jobi would be happy with that. he took auckland city from the ASB premiership to the a-league. they have won the OFC champions league 4 times in a row (not saying much but hey, they still had to beat waiketere and team wellington i guess) would be great if we can secure him. he has the philosophy at least. and you know we will have a better playing style than we did this season. plus we may see the influx of some good international players due to his connections (i imagine he would get the best out of players like Broich, and hopefully Kaulerovic, if he stays on, gets good service and a preseason to be more all rounded and a bit more active)

Good player or shite defense? good sequence definitely and shite defense (as a player he's alright, he is a starter but not one of the best right back's in the league)

also Ivan Franjic has quit Torpedo Moscow after not being paid
Dinamo Zagreb are supposedly after him (at least he's capped, he won't be stolen by the Croatian national team)
i hope he gets a gig in europe. ideally somewhere in the lower end of the bundesliga or a top bundesliga 2 club
