Not long now until the big kick off but before that we've the glorified friendly that is the community shield.
I've watched Leicester's pre season and they've been off the mark defensively, conceding a fair few goals so there should be goals in this one with us not quite up to speed yet either.
Expect a hatful of changes again midway through.
De Gea, Valencia, Bailly, Blind, Shaw, Carrick, Herrera, Mickey Rooney, Martial, Ibra.

Yeah, I feel like this would be our to-go team. At least these are the players looking more sharp than the others. Still working our way into full fitness so I don't know what to expect from this one.

I think Jesse looked good in the first half vs Everton. Wouldn't be surprised to see him start on the right. I think Micky is quality but may take a couple of months to acclimatise.

New season coming up, new manager, new players so I predict United 3 Leicester 1.
Even though I am partial to Red Leicester Cheese !

Matchdaaaaaayyyyy!!! Was a bit skeptical but now that I've seen Zlatan's interview with "I'm not here to waste time but to win trophies starting with the Community shield" you can't help but get at least a little excited. I think Smalling is still not match fit yet so I'd imagine Bailly-Blind at the back, the rest pretty much pick themselves

The only thing is the Community Shield winner doesn't tend to win much else..

Hard to deduce anything from the first official game of the season except that we are a lot more attacking minded even if our front players didn't produce all that much for the quality they have but that will definitely come. Starting with Carrick and Fellaini definitely isn't the way to go. Start with Schneiderlin and Pogba (still won't believe it till it happens) or Pogba and Herrera and we will improve our attacking display 100% I wasn't too pleased with signing Bailly for the money but if he continues this form i won't have any problems holding up my hands and say i was wrong. Both Valencia and Shaw will be massive for us this season. Both are machines down the flanks which will also help our attack no end. Disappointed not to see more of Mickey but i'm sure he'll be another plus for us this season. Also liked what Zlat said in his post match pitch interview. Almost made me want to like him

I think it's not fair to expect solid attacking performances from the first game, but I was kinda disappointed at the unpreparedness of some players, it could be tiredness from the Euros and what not so I'd withhold any judgment until a month or so in the season. On the bright side, Bailly is looking better and better each game. Same goes for Valencia. Overall an alright game and a great result
