In terms of position nothing's really changed: CB, CM, RW, ST. yeah, I agree. Here's basically who I think Mourinho may be interested in to suit his approach of football and what we currently lack :
De Gea
Valencia - Stones - Smalling - Shaw + Marquinhos (able to play CB and RB - to replace Darmian)
Schneiderlin - Kante
Mane - Rooney - Martial
Ibrahimovic
I think he will keep Fellaini too. "Mane" I am not sure is the right name, but it's the very profile Mourinho is going to bring in : full of pace, power, aggressivity. I've read somewhere that Mou wanted to bring Willian in, he too would be an excellent fit for Mou's approach imo. But the very best fit remains Griezmann, who we probably won't get. |

right, CM CB RW are priorities no matter if we play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. I see striker as a bonus, not a must.
Didn't Saul Niguez only recenlty extend his contract? Looks unlikely. Maybe William Carvalho comes up again as Jose is playing 2 defensive mids normally.
Stones seems everyones favorite for CB and rightly so. Can play a ball from the back, is young & english.

he can defend, but yes he still has to learn a lot. He's a raw diamond that's the kind of transfer I like and what is the United way.

One of the suggestions I saw today was
De Gea, Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Stones, Shaw, Joao Mario, Nemanja Matic, Rooney, Mane, Ibrahimovic, Martial ... Not that won't happen but I won't say no to that
