I think we simply need a centre back like Hummels and a Striker like Aubameyang and also a Midfielder like Reus!! And our team is near COMPLETE!! I don't think we need Darmian that waste of a Right Back pff!! We downgraded from Raphael to that him and he is half of what Raphael was in attacking and also defending!! I wish we could get Raphael back.. Was my fav Right Back after G. Neville!! #Viva Man-United!!

Pains me to say it but Bayern knew what they were doing when they let Schweini go. He's an expensive luxury for 10 games a season, more of a bed blocker than anything.

I don't think that's fair - he's more than justified his transfer fee (of £6m  ), maybe people's expectations have been really high, but I still think he's been a valuable addition if just for the champions mindset. Also, he's had some really good games where he's shown control and class

Can;t grumble at the fee but the wages is another RvP, the quality is there when he's fit but you can tell he's on the downward even when he's on form, still quality when on form though. The problem is he's not going to be fit enough long enough to make a difference over a long season. 3 / 4 years ago and it would have been a different story, we need someone of that calibre on the pitch week in, week out to win the title. We need a CM in their physical prime coming into the top of their game (like Pogba).

I wouldn't be too sure, does he really look up for the BPL and a long hard season? Way different than swanning about Ligue 1

I wouldn't mind Ibrahimovic but surely not if this means we're not going for someone like Lukaku for instance. To be fair, I don't care who we buy as long as we reinforce that position with someone able to put a fight and terrorise defences for a whole BPL season. And while I think Ibrahimovic still has a couple of years left in him, BPL is a completely different brand of football: not better, but very different from France, Spain or Italy.
For me Rooney is nearing the end and is no longer a starter in my books, while Martial is better from that left attacking position. So even if we purchase a young striker, there will still be plenty of chances for Rashford, as well as for (potentially) Wilson and Keane to get their chance. Lukaku at the moment looks like a truly realistic option, but there are many quality strikers out there.

Ibrahimovic would help us a season or two but we should sign players for the long term.

Yeah, I'm not sold on him too, but he fits the profile of a player that I think we should have up front. But I guess I can take Lewandowski too if I am forced to...

Ridiculous. Just goes on to show you how crazy competitive the Premier League is. No wonder they're doing better in European competitions too - they have plenty gas left in the tank

what happened to the Bundesliga this season
Bayern Munich on 75 points, 8 ahead of Dortmund, 26 ahead of third placed Hertha Berlin with a +55 goal difference.
What the hell happened there it used to be so competitive

Bump Well we now have a manager so let the discussion restart, with Mourinho it's more interest than excitement for me but still I expect the transfer window to be fun and big money to spent. In terms of position nothing's really changed: CB, CM, RW, ST. Ideally I'd like to see something like: De Gea
Valencia - Smalling - Varane/Marquinhos - Shaw
Schneiderlin - Saul
Mahrez/Mane - Rooney - Martial
Ibrahimovic
Trying to be semi realistic, I think players like Kane or Griezmann we'll have to wait another season for. Expect new CB as I don't see Mou sticking with Blind there regularly, someone more experienced may be more ideal but not too many top notch ones seem to be out there and available so a youngish with big potential may be the way, reports suggest Marquinhos and Varane have itchy feet but it will still be difficult to prise them away even with Jose. Midfield for me we need more of a playmaker or box to box at least, no.6 position is well covered imo, I'd love Saul who is an all rounder but has the ability to create from deep and run beyond the striker, just signed a new contract though so looks unlikely but we've seen players move before after signing new deals so here's hoping. Right wing is a huge issue, Mahrez can create and score, I think we could tempt him even without CL football but the problem is there are likely going to be teams after him who do have it. Mane would be decent alternative, pace to burn, scores goals, can play anywhere across the front, tore Jose's Cheslea to shreds on a few occasions, he'll for sure be on the move this summer and his work rate should also appeal to Mourinho. We've been linked to Joao Mario as well and have heard good things but I haven't seen anything of him myself. Up front I think Ibra is the way to go and looks likely to happen, experienced, scores goals for fun, no transfer fee so we can use the money elsewhere provides the perfect foil to the likes of Rashford, Martial etc. taking the weight off their shoulders. Given his age he wouldn't stifle our youngsters too much and we can rotate them across the strikers position plus Rooney can still play that role, then two or three years down the line Martial or Rashford will be ready or we bring someone in. Big money move, wise 'marquee' signing if you will... my dream would be Griezmann but I wouldn't be surprised to see James come in though you then have the Rooney conundrum.
