LVG just ruined it!!!
Played Mata in the Right wing and Lingard at No. 10, his subs were atrocious, 2 Full back and a holding midfielder when we needed 3 goals.
Fellaini-Carrick midfield will never work, too slow and he keeps playing them together.
I have come to a conclusion he knows he is going to be sacked and just taking piss.

I actually thought we showed a bit of spirit in the first half and looked like we were going to give it a right go but typically for us this season we failed to take the chances besides the penalty. Having said that I thought Liverpool looked dangerous whenever they attacked, or did we just look shaky? Then to concede the goal right before half time was pathetic and effectively sealed the deal. It was disappointing to see nothing from us in the 2nd half but it was understandable given the circumstances, just going through the motions really.
Keano highlighted the problem perfectly in the Europa League highlights. Where are the leaders? Where are the characters? Nobody seemed to be pissed off to concede just before half time, they just seemed deflated. Where was a player screaming at the rest of them for conceding this goal like there would've been in his day? The experienced players have been a joke all season bar the odd 1 and the main positives from this season will come from the fact we have some gifted young players who have shown some very bright things this season. Even last night I thought our stand out players were the energetic and enthusiastic front 3 but without experienced leaders and characters in and around them we're always going to struggle.

You just knew once they scored that United side were incapable of recovering. One look at the starting line up with Fellaini and Carrick starting told you the direction it was heading.

Not good for either club - www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/18/uefa-charge-manchester-united-liverpool-europa-league-troubleManchester United and Liverpool have been charged by Uefa following disturbances at Thursday night’s Europa League game at Old Trafford. Liverpool investigating alleged Munich air disaster tweet by youth team player Jordan Williams United have been charged over crowd disturbances, the throwing of objects and stairways being blocked. Liverpool have been charged over illicit chants, setting off fireworks, throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and arriving late for kick-off. Liverpool progressed to the quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate after Philippe Coutinho cancelled out Anthony Martial’s penalty opener to secure a 1-1 draw in the second leg but the tie was marred by some unruly fan behaviour during both games. A handful of Liverpool fans sitting in the top tier of the East Stand among the home supporters unfurled a banner in the dying minutes of the game at Old Trafford, sparking clashes in which punches were thrown and a seat hurled. Liverpool fans in the lower tier of the stand began chanting “Munich” in a reference to the 1958 air disaster while the fighting progressed. Police and stewards were forced to form a human shield to separate the two sets of supporters and Greater Manchester Police confirmed making five arrests and said they were investigating a “handful of concerning incidents”. Superintendent Jim Liggett, match commander for the tie, said: “The policing operation for the Manchester United v Liverpool match has now come to an end and towards the end of the game there were a handful of concerning incidents which are currently being investigated. We have made a total of five arrests.”

Hopelessy pessimistic for the remaining matches this season - they can't lift themselves for any game let alone for the run of games we need to get top four and as for the away leg at WHU for the FA cup replay .... it's not looking promising to say the least Well Rach1986 Pessimism is in this case Reality. West Ham will advance to the next round of the FA Cup, the top 4 is not even an option and Europa league beckons again. I hate to say this as I have been a supporter for 62 of my 70 years, through the good, the superb, the bad and the indifferent times but the current situation leaves me cold and will have knock-on repercussions for several seasons to come.

Disappointing that we're out of the competition, however I was really pleased with the first half. We showed a lot of fighting spirit which was lacking in the majority games of the season. Thought Blind was rather poor. No need to mention Fellaini anymore.
The moments they scored it was all over though, hopefully we can pick ourselves up from this and put the same effort into the City game
