Have to say I thought the tie was over after their 2nd goal went in. I'm expecting a spirited showing but not expecting much in terms of getting the result we need. I see us winning by 1 goal. Charlie agrees with you This tie isn't over, but Manchester United need to start quickly and score first if they are to have any chance of progressing. Liverpool will be happy to drop off, pack the midfield and squeeze when they're in their own half and Juan Mata is the key to unlock the defence. Marouane Fellaini was lucky to not be sent off in the first leg and I wouldn't be surprised if things boil over and we get a red card here, especially if Liverpool get the away goal and United get frustrated. Anthony Martial is looking more dangerous and he is definitely United's main dangerman now. He's key for them to have any chance of pushing this towards extra-time, which I wouldn't be surprised to see. I expect them to win the game, but go out. Charlie predicts: 2-1 and Martial to score first

I'm weirdly excited about this, it makes it so much better when the odds are against us - if we lose, oh well, but if we win it could be the greatest game of the season

United squad: De Gea, Romero, Valencia, Darmian, Varela, Smalling, Williams, Borthwick-Jackson, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Carrick, Lingard, Mata, Memphis, Martial, Rashford www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-news-squad-liverpool-11053572 Antonio Valencia and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have been included in Louis van Gaal 's Manchester United squad for tonight's Europa League round-of-16 clash against Liverpool . However, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera, who sat alongside Van Gaal in yesterday's pre-match press conference are out. Seventeen-year-old RoShaun Williams retains his place after earning his first-team promotion at the weekend. maybe Ander picked up an injury ?? Surprising if that's not the case Blind will be rested - also not expected

As long as he's not one of the holding mids we'll be good.
Blind needs a rest but we could miss his passing, we need to get it to the front quickly but we'll see.

Ander missing in the squad is worrying - shows up at the presser and then not in the squad ..... Surely LVG is not saving him for the City match If he's fit and not selected ................well then I really wonder

Maybe he has a knock as you say to be at the presser and not in the squad is a bit weird.
MEN just watch people going into the hotel so maybe he sneaked in round the back or something, they are usually right though. No news other than from the MEN.

So yes the odds are against us and if we lose we can console ourselves that it was on the cards. If we win, well yes a great result. But how as it come to this now ? Us hoping and praying ! Manchester United looking for Scraps ?

They gave it all they had but in the end just not good enough, just highlights the problem areas we've had all season.
First half good intensity, created some good chances and got the first goal. Conceding just before half time was a hammer blow, Varela got done and De Gea perhaps as well at his near post. We should have avoided that, calmed it down and took the 1-0.
Second half was disappointing, too much faffing around, lack of a true striker and experience in the front.

Bullshit all round. I'll be glad to see the back of VG and Fellaini.

Disappointing but logical exit for us based on the poor showing over the two matches We didn't show anything special tonight either and let's be honest nothing could be worse than that 1st leg performance anyway. We know we don't have a BBC or an MSN to save results for us - but the most worrying is that we aren't clicking or playing as a team at all. No reflexes, stuttering passes, hoof it if in doubt and nobody able or willing to take responsibility in front of goal As for the subs well ....difficult to follow any logic - Valencia OK but his first 1st team match appearance since 25 Oct 2015 - Darmian - still can't get that one - thought Rojo was doing a job - Basti for Carrick OK Rashford Martial and Lingard all tried hard and ran their legs off but it was never going to happen and no subs left to change the mix If we hadn't been given a penalty you didn't really feel we would have scored at all. Hopelessy pessimistic for the remaining matches this season - they can't lift themselves for any game let alone for the run of games we need to get top four and as for the away leg at WHU for the FA cup replay .... it's not looking promising to say the least One certainty is the back pages will give Wenger a break tomorrow - LVG will steal his thunder
