Sky Sports : www.skysports.com/football/news/11096/10170097/fc-midtjylland-all-you-need-to-know-about-manchester-uniteds-europa-league-opponentsRecent form Midtjylland Not too well lately. Although Midtjylland's Champions League run ended in an away-goals defeat to APOEL in August, they qualified for the Europa League group stage by seeing off Southampton. The Danish Superliga season also began encouragingly and they topped the table with 27 points from their first 12 games. But they have started to stutter under new coach Jess Thorup since then. Midtjylland actually limped over the line in their Europa League group, taking only one point from their final four games. In fact, they've won only one of their last nine in all competitions. What do they do differently? Midtjylland have had considerable success from set-pieces and this has been attributed to their specialist coaching in this area. Moreover, the club's recruitment strategy makes use of similar maths models to those which Benham used in his gaming career, looking to ascertain value that others might miss. While these aspects might not appear too revolutionary, it's Midtjylland's commitment to utilising their data that marks them out from the rest. The club uses an expected-goals model to provide coaches with added in-game insight into how the team is performing. There is even a mind coach to deal with the psychological aspects of the game. Another blow Get well soon BJ
Is there a full-back left at Manchester United? Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is the latest defender to be sidelined. The teenager will miss the Europa League tie through illness

We should win and win comfortably but we'll probably scrape some kind of result whether it be a score draw or a narrow win.

Yeah we should win by more than two or three goals considering the fact that their last competitive match was on the 10th of December, if we can't win with whatever team we put in then something is wrong.

BJ, Varela and Fellaini aren't in the squad. We've got 3 games in the next week so we're going to have to rotate. If we can't get past Midtjylland playing an......experimental side then we can forget winning the competition anyway. If they do perform well and get a good result then we can afford to rest players for the 2nd leg as well. Ideally you'd have guys like Martial playing just 1 game out of the next 3 so he's ready and refreshed for Arsenal. is Varela still injured or is he just coming back in now? (i thought the injury he picked up was a pretty minor one)

He is still injured but I think he should be back for the Arsenal game.

LVG has outlined this competition as his #1 priority now. So I expect we'll see as strong a team as possible.

Fellini also has a hamstring injury that has to be assessed, he may be out for several weeks.

Well that's impressive. Anyway, what could have/should have been done is now pointless to discuss, but even with the youngsters coming up into the side we should still be able to win against Midtjylland. I've read their strengths are corners and set pieces so put all available in there and we should be fine. On another note, I'm starting to wonder whether reverting to a 3-5-2 considering all the injuries might actually not be such a bad idea

4 changes with Love, McNair, Memphis and Herrera coming in for Darmian, CBJ, Rooney and Schneiderlin. That team should be more than food enough to settle the tie against a team that hasn't played a competitive game since 10th December.
