Worst United performance I've ever had the misfortune of witnessing and that includes the City 6-1 game.
Putting aside the manager who has failed miserably. The players were a fucking disgrace for that opening 40 minutes. No commitment or aggression. Pulling out of challenges, couldn't be arsed pressing, couldn't be arsed with 50/50's and just generally didn't want to put themselves on the line for the club. It's all good and well not liking the manager but the first thing on every player's mind should be to give 100% in every fucking game and I didn't see that today. They improved in the 2nd but not by much, absolutely disgusting showing and an unforgivable way to treat the traveling fans. It looks like they'll get their wish as I'm almost certain LVG loses his job over this.
As for the manager. The football has been poor and he's lost the players. He simply has to go. He's done some good things but that will all have been completely undone if we fail to get top 4 again this season. It's back to the drawing board for the club as a whole.
What is evident is that this club is lacking leaders, it's lacking desire, it's lacking players who will fight for every goal and basically players who can take the team by the scruff of the neck and drag them through games. This again is LVG's doing as he's put the squad together, he thought he could get by in England with nice footballers who can pass the ball successfully, it hasn't worked.
All that being said and putting aside all my criticism of LVG it's going to take me some time to forgive those players for the appalling, uncommitted effort they put up today.

Yeah I agree with you on everything, especially this part: What is evident is that this club is lacking leaders, it's lacking desire, it's lacking players who will fight for every goal and basically players who can take the team by the scruff of the neck and drag them through games. This again is LVG's doing as he's put the squad together, he thought he could get by in England with nice footballers who can pass the ball successfully, it hasn't worked. I think we need a real manager, someone who will be a true leader in the dressing room, inspire the lads, and not just a tactician sitting all game on the touchline. Some players in our team also need to take some responsibility now, need to step up and become the leaders. The team is dead, there is no other words for it now.

That we didn't play basically.
He knows that he is going to go I think, realisation that he can't turn it around.

The players have let him down and you can clearly see that but he hasn't started naming names etc. he has respect for them and it's such a shame that they don't give it back.

Yeah I agree, as much as LVG is pissing me off with his system, players should not be allowed to sabotage their season. This would never, ever have happened under SAF, because he was a true men-manager, but also because Giggs, Scholes, Rio, Vidic, Evra, etc. would simply not allowed that. As Jamie said earlier, we're lacking leaders, we're lacking players who will carry the badge and the traditions and help the manager to control the spirit of the team. Twice now the manager has lost the dressing room since SAF left. It can not happen again. We need a strong manager as well as for some players to take their responsibilities.

Please NOT Mourinho!!! His game is very similar to LVG. We need Pep next summer. In the mean time... PLEASE PLEASE Sir Alex, take us to a Champion's League spot by the end of this shitty season.

Mourinho's game is not similar to LVG. I don't know where people get this from. LVG is completely unwilling to sacrifice possession to try and win a game, Mourinho regularly sacrifices possession to win games. He has varying ways of playing, his teams tend to attack much more direct and with more pace than we've been attacking this season.

Like it or lump it guys. I reckon Mourinho is nailed on to get the job. All these alternatives that we keep thinking of (me included) are actually irrelevant.

His football is boring! He may win games, but he doesn't win pretty.

Chelsea were excellent going forward at times last season. His Real Madrid team outscored Barca in one of the seasons he was there. He regularly got the best GD in his first stint as Chelsea manager and outscored most teams.
I have no concerns with Mourinho's style of play. My concerns with him lie off the field.
